Regret

News has just been told that Shawn Mendes was performing tonight at your city, but you were more depressed than happy as you two broke up before he went on tour.

**FLASHBACK**

"Y-Y/N, can we talk for a moment?" You hear Shawn tell you with a shaky voices as he took a deep breath. You felt a little tense as to what this was about. He takes a seat on the couch and you sat beside him, turning yourself his way.

"I think w-we should break up..." He starts and you covered your mouth with one hand. 

"Why? What have I done?" You whisper back and he shakes his head no.

"I'm going on tour for a whole year, things could happen during that time. Some other guy could fall in love with you. I could get drunk and cheat, a lot of things. It's best if we break up so we won't have any surprises." He explains but you began to cry. 

"There's nobody else that I love except for you. I love you and nobody can take your spot as my boyfriend!" You exclaim and he sobs as well. He pulls you in for a hug and kisses your forehead for the last time.

"I don't wanna do this, but it's best to go this way..." He sniffles and pulls away. 

Your boyfriend of 8 months just broke your heart.

**END OF FLASHBACK**

Nevertheless, you decided to go to the concert to see how he's doing. You still loved him with all your heart and watching him perform is the only way you can think back about the fun times you've had with him when you two were together. 

You got dressed up nicely and headed to the arena. Many fans were watching him as well, but they can have him as much as they want. Shawn wasn't your boyfriend anymore.

The concert begins and Shawn comes out with a smile on his face. Did he really move on that quickly?

You hear him sing songs off his Illuminate Album. Oh how you wish you heard him sing those songs to you personally at home, but those days were long gone. 

After about an hour and a half, it was time for one more song before the show is over. You hear him start to sing, but somehow his voice sounded rather sad in this one. And now you remembered, this was the song Shawn would always sing to you before you went to bed, when you two were bored or whenever he felt like singing.

Shawn's POV
The concert was almost over and it was time for the last song. 

When I wake up to your footsteps
As you get up out of bed
They make a sound that sounds so simple
But dances in my head

A melody so perfect
That it gets me through the day
And the thought of us forever

I began to tear up inside. This was the song I sang to Y/N when we were still together. All the memories we've made, from our first date to our New Year's kiss. Everything was just so perfect but I dumped her. Sadness grew in my voice as I continued to sing. 

All I need to know is
Where to stop
Take my hand and show me forever
So never will I ever let you go

So let's hold on together
To this paper and this pen
And write down every letter
To every word we've ever said....

I couldn't take it anymore. I miss Y/N so much. I stopped singing and dropped the guitar. Immediately, I broke down on the ground into tears. The fans gasped and began to scream in concern. I can't bear the fact that my muffin girl isn't with me anymore. I was so stupid dumping her.

Your POV
You see Shawn break down on-stage. What could it be about now? Even though he's not officially yours anymore, you went up on-stage and helped him. 

"Shawn? Are you okay?" You say to him and he shoots his head up. His face lightened and got up immediately. You stood up too and he pulls you in for a tight hug. Fans aww'd and some were crying. You hear Shawn sobbing and felt his tears land on your shirt. 

"I'm sorry Y/N, breaking up with you was my worst mistake. I still love you and I never stopped..." He whimpers and you cry as well.

"I still love you too, Shawn..." You reply and he sniffled.

"Please take me back...I'm so sorry I broke up with you! I want you back with me!" He shouts and fans heard it.

"Take him back! Take him back!" You hear them chant and you finally made your decision.

"Of course, Shawn! C'mere!" You reply and pulled him into a hug. Not long after, you two share a kiss. The fans went wild.

"I love you, hunny. You're mine and nobody can ever take you away from me." He whispered into your ear.

"I love you too, babe." You say back and share another kiss with him.
