Pen Pal [PART 1]

You sat down on your desk and sighed. You were about to write a letter to your pen pal Shawn who's from Canada. You've never seen a pic of him and he's never seen a pic of you. Grabbing a pencil, you quickly write down your letter.

Hi Shawn, 

I hope you're doing well over there. In a few weeks, I'm gonna fly to Canada for a two-month vacation and hopefully we get to meet. Right now, I'm trying to learn lots about the country and so far, I like it. It's kinda better than where I live, actually. I'm so jealous! I'm sorry I haven't got much to write to you this time but I hope that we do meet sometime when I fly there.

You placed the letter onto the envelope and went to a nearby mailbox to drop it off. Thoughts went into your mind about who Shawn is and what he looks like. Maybe he's a hot model, someone who's adorable and sweet or maybe he's simply just a sad loser. Based on the letters he sent you before, he seemed a little shy but he's actually really nice. You went back home and continued to look up more stuff about Canada.

**TWO WEEKS LATER**

You checked your mailbox to find a letter from Shawn. You smiled as you wondered what he's wrote to you this time. You took out the letter from the envelope and read it.

Hi Y/N!

I'm so glad you're coming to Canada and I'd love to meet you when you arrive! Let me know exactly when you're coming and I'll make sure to come to the airport and pick you up. Anyways, I'm doing fine here, too. School's been a little tough though. I had to sing in front of the entire school during the Christmas Concert and I sounded so horrible! But at least I survived :). Sorry, I to have nothing much to write but I really hope we meet when you land here. Here's my phone number so you can text me when you arrive and, depending on where you land, I'll come and pick you up.

You smiled and folded the letter. Writing to an overseas friend isn't actually all that bad. At least you've got yourself someone who is actually supportive. Once, you wrote a letter telling him about a difficult situation and his reply was just so beautiful. You definitely know Shawn's a sweetheart but meeting him is the only way to prove if he really is. You fly to Canada in just a week and you decided to send him another letter to let him know when you're arriving. 

***A WEEK LATER***

You excitedly boarded your flight to Toronto and in just 8 hours, you were gonna meet Shawn, hopefully. You've been writing letters to him for over 3 months now and you two have made a close connection. 

You were on your way to Canada, and to your pen pal Shawn Mendes.
