You and Shawn were celebrating your five-year anniversary at the state fair. Earlier, you made Shawn ride the scary roller-coaster with you and he was in tears at the end of the ride. He also won you three stuffed animals from different games to the jealousy of many others playing the game.
It was already 8:30 at night and already dark, but there's no sign of the fair shutting down anytime soon.
"Let's go on that ride, darling. There's something I wanna tell you." He whispers into your ear and holds your hand. You two walk together to the entrance of the ferris wheel.
You two hopped on one of the capsules and started your journey up.
"We're gonna get a great view of the fireworks up here." He says and you see him looking a little nervous.
"Babe, you okay?" You asked and he looked at you with a reassuring smile.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He replied and you see him grin widely. You smiled back and kissed his cheek.
The ferris wheel stops and your capsule was at the very top, making a great view of the entire fair on a clear night.
"It looks beautiful up here..." You said in awe and Shawn puts an arm around your neck.
"It does, darling. But not as beautiful as you..." He compliments and kisses your forehead. Shivers went through your spine at the touch.
"Here we go, babe. The moment we've been waiting for." He whispers and you two see fireworks in the distance. Each having different colours and popping loudly. You sighed in admiration as Shawn smiles and pulls you in closer to him.
"This is a perfect way to spend our anniversary. I wouldn't be anywhere else besides being with you..." He tells you and kisses your cheek. You smile back and continued to enjoy the fireworks.
"Baby, I wanna tell you something." Shawn whispers and you turn to face him but he wasn't sitting beside you.
"Down here, hunny." He grins and you saw him on the floor of the capsule on one knee, a small box on one of his hands and a tear rolling down his cheek. Tears also began to pour out of your eyes.
"I've been waiting for this moment to happen and I can't believe it's actually happening right at this moment. You've always been there for me when I'm feeling low and never left my side. I know we've had our negatives in this relationship but we got through them and I'm glad that I chose you to be my girlfriend. Darling, I wanna be with you for the rest of our lives and travel through this journey to forever with you. There's nobody who can take your spot as my wife because I know that you're the right girl for me, no doubt about it. So Y/N...." He says and opens the box, revealing a beautiful ring with little diamonds on it. He sniffles and smiles weakly.
