Sesshōmaru | Holding Hands

Author's Note: I don't know much about Inuyasha, but hopefully I get his character right! ^w^

Your fingers carefully ran through Rin's hair as you plucked out the occasional twig and leaf out. Nothing was said between the two, only a frequent yelp when you untangled her hair free from a piece of wood. Your rosy lips were curled in a soft caring smile. Rin sniffled quietly as you reassuringly soothed her irritated scalp.

"Darling, do you mind telling me how you managed to get so dirty?" You chuckled lightly, grabbing a comb from your bag and brushing her silky strands of brown hair. The young girl sheepishly smiled, laughing nervously.

Rin sighed, dusting off some of the dirt from her yukata. "I rolled down the hill of flowers, but I may have landed into a bush..." she blushed, her height shrinking at your little giggles. You cooed at Rin, playfully pinching her rosy cheeks. 

"That sounds like an adventure. You did take your bath earlier, just keep this between us, okay? Don't tell Master Sesshōmaru." You placed your index finger onto your lips, slyly winking at the girl as you two burst into a fit of giggles and laughter. 

Suddenly, the white-haired humanoid came appeared himself. He rested his hands above his hips, gazing at you with curious eyes. "Don't tell me what, (Name)?" Sesshōmaru raised his eyebrow in confusion as you shook your head, making your hair move in entrancing waves as you bobbed your head side to side. 

"Nothing, Master Sesshōmaru. Now, we should hurry along if we want to reach the next village. Come along, Rin." The little girl obediently stood up from the grass and took the hand you held out towards her. You slung your bag over your shoulder and headed forward.

Sesshōmaru stared after you, his amber eyes glinting with a hint of affection. He trailed after you, silently walking behind. The walk was silent and laborious, seeing as how you three had to cross a few valleys and rivers to reach the village before nightfall.

Your hand firmly wrapped around Rin's hand as the sky began to turn into a beautiful dark blue sky. She yawned, using her small palm to cover her mouth. You smiled, stopping in your steps and surprising Sesshōmaru. Wrapping your arms around the small of Rin's back and her knees, you lifted her up into your hold.

"You should rest, Rin." You whispered sweetly, resting your head on top of her head. Rin sighed pleasantly, placing her head into the crook of your head.

She hummed quietly, mumbling sleepily. "You smell sweet... Just like lavender..." Rin fluttered her eyes shut and you smiled fondly at the slumbering girl. Your lips puckered and placed a soft onto her forehead.

Sesshōmaru reached over and carefully taking the girl from your hold, starling you. He gently held Rin into his arms, reassuring you in soft hushed whispers into your ear.

"It's fine, (Name). You shouldn't force yourself." He sighed quietly as he continued to look straight ahead, not daring to spare you another glance. You smiled softly, taking larger strides to be in step with him. Your hands occasionally brushed against each other, leaving a hint of warmth every time they had touched.

Gathering every last bit of courage, you reached out for his palm and intertwined his fingers with your own. Sesshōmaru turned his head towards you with a curious expression. "It's getting dark, I don't want to get lost." You shyly explained, your voice unusually quiet. He lightly scoffed, but didn't let go.

A small smile appeared on his lips.
