chapter 39: beachin'

After everything yesterday once we got back to the hotel we all decided to call it a night and just sleep it off and to be honest sleep was exactly what was needed I woke up feeling so refreshed and surprisingly enough nick did too "hey baby waide just texted me...we're all going to go down and eat some breakfast" he informs me "mmm that sounds great!" I tell him pleased at the new information I've been given I immediately get up out of bed and get decent enough to go down to eat breakfast...

Once we reached the dining area where the hotel had a huge breakfast buffet set up my mouth instantly started to water as my nose filled up with the delightful scent of food. There was so much food! If my belly could smile right now it definitely would. I was ready to pig out! Once I filled my plate with French toast, pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, pineapple, strawberries and yogurt I sat down with the rest of the group. Everyone's eyes widen at the sight of my plate. "Damn what the fuck?! Are you gonna eat all that?" Waide questions. Casey laughs. "Oh watch her...she will" she tells him. "My baby can eat" nick says in agreement while laughing. "How the hell are you as skinny as you are?!" Jesse wonders. "I wonder the same thing every time I see her eat" Michelle admits. "I envy the fact that she can eat so much yet weigh so little" Aubry says. "Oh whatever guys!" I tell him "it all goes to her ass...my princess is skinny but she got them thighs and a nice booty" nick says. I look at him in disbelief that he just said that, nick is not the time to be sexual towards me in front of others. "Yeah I'll have to agree on that one sorry Kristen don't take it the wrong way but that's the first thing I noticed about you that you were skinny but had a really nice butt" Mel admits we all laugh "well damn checking out my little sister hmm?" Casey jokes. "If only I had boobs to match" I admit looking down at my flat chest. "Well that I can help you out with...I can give you some of mine" Aubry jokes "to hell you can...those are mine!" Waide jokes before grabbing ahold of aubrey's boobs as if he's trying to protect them from me. Our whole table burst out laughing at how serious he was about that. "Okay enough about my body and aubreys nice boobs" I say "would yall be down to go to the beach for a bit today?" I ask them "I was hoping someone would suggest that" Mel admits "I'm down to catch some cali sun" aubrey says "Yeah I could use a nice tan" Michelle agrees "looks like we're gonna be beachin today" jess says. I laugh as the word beachin made me think of that one country song..." white sand, cold can koozie in my hand, just a summertime strolling
Chillin', breazin', sippin', singin' whoaoaoh....Beachin' " Casey sings as if she had just read my mind. I laugh even harder. "You totally read my mind casey" I tell her. She giggles "hey it's a good song by jake owen" she admits...I agree! "So shall we go back up to our rooms and get our bathing suits on?" Mel asks. "Sounds good!" I say before taking my last bite of French toast. Breakfast was so yummy!

After getting back up to our hotel rooms and throwing our bathing suits on quickly, we all meet in the hallway by the elevators ready to spend our day at the beach! "Yooo I'm so stoked for this" Waide admits out loud as we get enter the elevator "suns out guns out?...really bro?!" Nick comments at jesse we all laugh. "Of course you'd own a tank that said that." I tell him. "Oh don't hate on my muscles" Jesse says. "What muscles babe?" Michelle says sarcastically. "Ouch" Jesse says as he hold a hand against his chest as if her comment really hurt him. She then leans over and gives him a swift kiss on the cheek before the elevator doors open to the lobby and we make our way out the front doors. "Shall we walk?" Mel suggest. "Why not...the beach is right a cross the street" Aubry points out. "Yeah it'd be stupid of us to drive with it being in walking distance from us" I admit, as we all begin to head over to the side walk before crossing over.

As soon as my bare feet hit the beach, the warm sand in between my toes I felt relaxed with the sun rays hitting my body just right, feeling satisfied I close my eyes when suddenly the flashbacks from the last time I was at a beach began to haunt me, all the bad memories flowing into my mind, immediately feeling panicked I opened my eyes. No longer feeling relaxed but on edge the girls who were quick to notice looked at me puzzled when finally aubrey spoke up "you okay Kristen?" She asked worriedly. I couldn't speak, my heart was racing and all I wanted was to leave but I knew if I did everyone would wonder why. Stupid me for not thinking this through, of course being back at a beach would get to me. I don't answer aubrey but instead I begin to look around for nick I quickly find him by the water talking with Jesse when suddenly we lock eyes as if he knew what had just happened to me without me even having to tell him he rushes over to me not saying anything he just holds me. At this point the girls are all looking at us with questioning eyes. I see Jesse give me a sad but comforting smile, knowing all too well what was wrong. "You're starting to scare me, what's wrong?" Casey asks. "Nothing is wrong she just wants a hug don't question it, not her fault she's in love" Jesse speaks up for me making a joke to kind of ease the tension. Incredibly thankful at his attempt I laugh "exactly, don't judge me ladies geez!" I say jokingly playing along with it. "You two are acting seriously strange but you're both oh so cute together" Mel says. "Take a walk with me?" Nick asks finally speaking up. I don't bother saying anything but instead unwind myself from his embrace and take his hand in exchange.

We begin walking along the beach "I'm sorry" nick says once we're away from the group. "Why are you apologizing?" I ask, confused. "Because I should have known this was going to be a little difficult for you and I even said something to Jesse about how I was worried for you coming down to the beach for the first time since the incident but yet I never talked with you about it and I left your side...I should have stayed with you!" He says. "HEY!" I say angrily. "That...what just happened back there is NOT your fault so do not for one second put the blame on yourself because weather you would have been right next to me or not regardless those memories were going to come running back to me it's not like you could have stopped that from happening and sure you may have figured it was going to happen and yeah you were right but look...I'm okay! Don't beat yourself up about not being there for me when you have been nothing but there for me through everything! So what you werent right by my side, You were feet away from me still in sight..it's okay nick, I promise." I tell him trying my best to reassure him. He sighs annoyed at the fact that I've made a good point. "I just love you too much to ever see you scared or in pain...I'd do anything and everything to keep you from feeling anything but happy" nick admits and as cute as that was of him to say it's simply an impossible task "I love you Nick and I appreciate you more than anything however regardless of how happy you make me things will happen in life that'll scare me, make me sad and probably even angry. you can't keep me from feeling those things but you can be there for me while I am dealing with it and so far you've done everything and beyond for me to assure me that I'll be okay and I'm not alone through everything. you've stuck by my side and loved me anyways..even though I can be a pain in your ass Nicholas Andrew Holtz I'm forever grateful for you and will always love you till the end of time" I assure him he smiles "I love you more future Mrs. Holtz" he tells me and I can't help but blush when he says that because I know without a doubt one day I will have his last name ♡♡
