Chapter 32
Ryan's Point of View - October 2012I was sitting across from Tessa. We had just gotten back from Amelia’s. It seemed to go well. I was a bit worried how Amelia would handle it. Okay so I wasn’t worried about how she would handle it, I was worried about how I would handle it. I don’t know why I asked Tessa out. She and I have nothing in common and she is the type of person that I hate. Yet, this was the only way to try and get over Amelia. I just have to put myself out there. Tessa seemed to like me okay, I think. I made her a cup of tea and we sat down to chat, “So, what do you think of my friends?”
She took a sip of her tea, its steam floating up into her red hair, “They were okay”
She seemed like the kind of person who thinks everyone is beneath her and that she was better than everyone around her. It was kind of annoying, “Okay?”
“Yes. Okay. I didn’t mind a few of them”
“Which ones didn’t you like?”
She placed the cup on the table and crossed her legs, “Honestly, there was only one that I had a problem with”
Oh no, it was Tom I bet. He tends to come on too strong and can come off as annoying and clingy, “Who?”
“That girl….Amelia I think she said her name was”
She had a problem with Amelia? No one ever has a problem with Mel, she was always so friendly, “Amelia? Why?”
“Well, her apartment was a mess, she clearly doesn’t know how to clean. Her clothes were obviously cheap ones and were so poor like. She was loud and irritating”
I didn’t know what to say. I didn’t want to agree because I far from agreed but how do I disagree with someone like Tessa? “I guess she can be”
“And you have to see how in love with you she is”
“What?”
“You don’t see it, darling?”
“See what, no?”
“Oh, no matter then. I just thought that she had a thing for you”
“She did, she has in the past. But she has a boyfriend now. Chris, the blonde one”
Tessa let out this laugh, this evil laugh, “Oh dear. How could someone like her get someone like him?”
“What do you mean?”
“Well, she doesn’t compare to his physical appearance. Everyone can see it. She doesn’t have the face to be seen with someone like him. Oh and did you hear her laugh? Ha, it sounds awful. I’m surprised that he can even look at her. Honestly, has he been drunk for their entire relationship?”
I couldn’t believe what she had just said. She had just met Amelia moments ago and she was seriously judging every single thing about her? This was too much, I couldn’t stand for it. I stood up from my seat, “You know what Tessa, you don’t know a thing about Amelia. You’ve literally known her for five seconds. You have done nothing but say cruel things about her. She was nothing but nice to you and you’ve sat here being rude. So what if her apartment isn’t completely clean? She works hard. So what if her clothes aren’t designer ones like yours? She is more then what she wears. How dare you say that she doesn’t look like the type of person to be with Chris. She is a beautiful human being who deserves the world. And she doesn’t need people like you bringing her down. You wish that you were a quarter of the person she is. You don’t own half of the beauty she does and you can’t sit here and make fun of her laugh when you have a laugh like an evil monkey”
It felt good to stand up for what I believe instead of going with what someone else thought. Tessa clearly wasn’t as happy about it, “Ryan. You need help. I’m sorry but this isn’t going to work. You clearly have some unresolved feelings or whatever with that girl so, I’d rather not have the drama thanks”
