Chapter 47
April 2017 *Present Day* - The Truth
Sophie was wrong, thinking back and remembering everything only made me more confused. It shouldn’t be like this. It shouldn’t be this hard. I began pacing again. This was all very stressful and it isn’t something I should need to think about on my own wedding day. I heard the door squeak open, I turned thinking it was Sophie only to find Chris, “What are you doing? You’re not meant to be in here”
He closed the door, walked over to me and grabbed my hand, “Sophie sent me in here. She told me what’s happening”
“I’m sorry Chris. You must think the worst of me”
“Of course not. I understand, believe me”
“You do?”
“Yes. Its horrible loving two people. You want to be with one but you can’t help but think about what you’ll be giving up if you go with the other one. I’ve been through this, remember?”
“Of course. Sophie”
“I also understand what’s troubling you. I’ve kept something from you for a long time and I think that it may help you. There is something that you don’t know about Ryan”
“Is it something that will cause me more stress because I don’t need any more right now”
“You need to know, it’s time that you know. Sophie didn’t even know until a month ago and it happened years ago”
“This sounds serious, I don’t think I want to hear it”
“Trust me, you will”
Chris took me over to the couch, “Alright, the truth about Ryan. As you know, he can be secretive and hidden. He isn’t the type of person to open up and let people in. I’ve known him for over half my life and I have only seen him cry once. And when I say cry, I mean full on break down”
“Oh no. What happened?”
“You”
“Is that meant to make me feel better because it isn’t working”
“No. What I mean is when you left, it was the hardest thing that he had to deal with”
“I do hope that you’re going to explain because I’m just a little confused”
“Alright. It was just after Tom drove you to the airport. You were long gone and I had a knock on my door…”
