Brandon POV
Callie hugged Jude, comforting him since he was crying a little. even though she comforted him I saw anger in her eyes. her protectiveness was taking over and I knew what was about to come out wouldn't be good.
Jude- when dad drinks he just.. he just becomes so mad
Callie- I know, I think you should just come live with us for awhile.. until dad gets better
Jude- I can't.. he's gonna be so angry
Brandon- don't worry about that, we can tell him
Callie- yeah, why don't you just lay down here and rest.. and we'll go talk to dad
Jude laid his head down and closed his eyes, me and Callie went into the hallway and shut the door behind us. I looked at Callie and knew she was about explode. Callie started downstairs.
Brandon- wait, were are you going?
Callie- talk to my dad
Brandon- Callie maybe you should just take a minute, you really upset right now..
Callie- don't tell me to calm down right now!
Brandon- well you need to whether you like it or not! your pregnant..
Callie just ignored me and headed downstairs anyways, I followed behind her until we reached the living room where Callie's dad and my moms were sitting.
Callie POV
Travis- hey, where's Jude? is he ready to go?
Callie- he's not going anywhere with you
Travis- what?
Callie- Jude's coming to live with me and Brandon
Travis- what?
Callie- your drinking dad
Travis- what did he tell you that? its not true
Callie- don't lie to me
Travis- I'm not..
Callie- don't you dare lie to me!
Travis- Callie..
Callie- after all.. after all you have put us through, tell me the truth now!
Travis- you can't take Jude away from me
Callie- I have legal rights.. I'm his sister!
Travis- I'm his father!
Callie- you killed our mother! you were in prison for five years, your drinking again dad
he turned his gaze away from me, he knew what I said was the harsh truth
Callie- they will never give him to you
Travis- we'll see about that
he turned and left the house
Brandon POV
me and Callie took Jude home with us that night but I knew this wasn't over, Travis would be back. Jude didn't have any of his belongings with him, our spare room was in the process of being turned into a nursery so Jude had to sleep on the couch for tonight. after putting Jude to bed Callie came to bed.
Brandon- is he okay?
Callie- yeah, he's a little scared but he went to sleep so..
Brandon- he'll be fine
Callie- I hope so
Brandon- he's safe here
Callie- I just realized.. I never really asked you if it was okay for Jude to come live with us, I kind of made the decision by myself
Brandon- did you think I would say no?
Callie- no, I just.. I probably should have talked to you..
Brandon- I love Jude, he needs to be here right now, besides you never know.. maybe if your dad gets the right help..
Callie- no, I know I told Jude this was only for a little while but.. I don't think he can ever go back with my dad, its just not safe
