Brandon POV
I slipped into bed next to Callie, she was still awake. Jude moved into Jesus's room after we realized we would be staying here a little longer than we thought.
Brandon- so.. I made apointments to meet with a couple lawyers tomorrow
Callie- good
Brandon- this seems weird dosen't it?
Callie- what?
Brandon- staying in this room together, my old room
Callie- yeah I know, its strange being back in this house again
Brandon- yeah well I'll be happy to be back in our regualar sized bed again, sleeping in this twin bed is getting old
she smiled
Callie- yeah I guess it is a little.. oh
Brandon- what? what is it?
Callie- the baby..
Brandon- what's wrong?
Callie- nothing.. the baby just kicked
Brandon- no way
Callie- yeah, feel right here
she took my hand and positioned it on her belly, after a minute I felt it
Brandon- that's amazing
Callie- I know, it's kind of a shame.. all this stuff with my dad, we haven't been able to really enjoy this pregnancy
Callie POV
Brandon and me sat in the office of the lawyer we had hired to handle the custody case. dad would be out of the rehab program in less than a month, then we would go to court. after sitting there a few minutes the lawyer came in.
Lawyer- so when you father gets out of rehab in a few weeks he will be a fit guardian again and want custody of Jude back until we go to trial
Callie- he can't do that though, Jude needs to stay with us
Lawyer- the best we can get right now is shared custody
Callie- I can't tell him that he has to go back there
Brandon- Travis just got out of rehab.. Jude shouldn't go back with him right away
Lawyer- look.. we need to do this to show were cooperating
I sighed
Lawyer- you should also be prepared for a worst case scenario
Brandon- what do you mean worst case scenario?
Lawyer- this isn't exactly an open and shut case, worst case Jude goes back with Travis
Callie- oh.. I think we need another lawyer
Brandon- Callie
Callie- no! no, if he thinks were gonna lose then I want another lawyer!
Lawyer- I'm not saying were gonna lose, but you need to be prepared that he might have to go back
Callie- I can't afford to think that way! I have to get custody
Brandon- shouldn't it help in any way that Jude wants to come live with us
Lawyer- it helps, only if Jude can tell the judge that
Callie- he will, we can just explain it to him
Lawyer- that's good but.. are you willing to have him testify.. in court against his father
Brandon POV
Callie paced the room, it was getting late but she just wouldn't go to bed.
Brandon- Callie, we'll figure it out in the morning.. just sleep on it
Callie- I just don't know what to do about this trial, if I make Jude testify..
Brandon- it would help our side a lot
Callie- yeah but.. being in the court room, having to testify right in front of dad.. I don't know if I can have him to that, it would be to hard on him
Brandon- we can talk to Jude about it.. in the morning
Callie- I just.. oh
Brandon- what? what is it Callie?
I got out of bed and headed over to her, she grabbed my arm for stability and held her belly.
Callie- I don't.. I don't know, somethings wrong.. somethings wrong with the baby
Brandon- I'm gonna call an ambulance
Callie- no.. no Brandon
Brandon- what?
Callie- lets.. lets just go to the hospital
