9. Old Ways

*Two days later*

Kate (Studio Owner) POV -
I'm adressing A troupe as one today because the solo competition is coming up really soon and I don't want them to be phased by the fact that the Gemini team are coming too.

"Alright dancers. I want to talk to you about the competition that is coming up" Kate began, enticing the dancers in and get them all in to listen. "I know that the Gemini team won Regionals, and now they are coming to this Solo competition. But we can't let that get in the way of getting the studio back on track" She said. 

"This competition is the first step to becoming the best again. So I'd like to see Richelle and Zara perform the Solos so I can see how they are coming a long" Daniel said, it was great to have him back in the studio. After everything that happened and the way he acted after leaving The Next Step and going to elite. The old Daniel was back!

Daniel (Head Choreographer) POV -
I really hope that this studio scores a good place at this competition. They really deserve it and we're the international winners, we have to get to the top level.

"So if the rest of you could clear the room please and get into your teams" Daniel said, the dancers did as they were told and Richelle and Zara prepared to show their solos to Daniel. But as Zara was getting ready, Emily walked over to her before leave and. "Zara, don't share any ideas with Richelle. Our team is going to win okay?"

Emily (Co-Captain) POV -
I said that Zara shouldn't share ideas with Richelle because at the end of the day, Kate split us into two groups so we can grow and cement as a proper competing team. We wouldn't share our routine with the Gemini team now would we?

Zara (Contemporary Dancer) POV -
I think it's ridiculous that Emily says I shouldn't share with Richelle. Although I'm not on her side, I'm in A troupe and so is she so I believe that I can help her.

"Okay, Whatever you say" Zara answered.

Emily (Co-Captain) POV -
I'm glad we're on the same page!

Java Junction

Riley (Co-Studio Head) POV -
James and I are in Java Junction and we're talking about how much as changed. This promise ring he gave me, it just makes we feel so loved and safe.

"It's just hard to think a year ago, we were preparing for Nationals. We were the Duet and we come second place" She said, he agreed with her. "That was such a great team. Hunter, Thaila, Amanda. All gone now" James said, his voice was soft and in a way sad. "But hey, we can get there again" He added.

Riley (Co-Studio Head) POV -
When James said that. It makes me think. CAN WE? get back to that again, to much had changed for me.

"Would you ever consider dancing on A troupe again?" Riley asked, although James left to be with the band. He spent even less time with them than before when we was on the internationals team. "Yeah, I would. What about you?" He asked, Riley nodded Slowly to. "But we're getting older"  She said. "There is still time"

Studio A

"That's great, really try and show the emotion in the harder moves and the smoothness of the softer ones" Daniel said, trying to help Zara become better for the solo competition. By now, Daniel had seen both Richelle and Zara dance and both Solos were looking great. He returned to the office to talk to Kate. Leaving Richelle and Zara alone...

"So how long have you danced here?" Zara asked "10 Years, How long were you at your old studio for?" Richelle answered, followed by the same question back to Zara. "Around the same, but you know I was thinking. Could you please show me your solo again because I think a may be able to help you"  Zara offered.

Richelle (Acro Dancer) POV -
I think it's really kind that she wants to help me. I pretty much know it all already but she's new and I want to make her feel at home so we help each other out.

"Go from after you Illusion into the splits " She said, getting ready to show Richelle how she could improve the solo. It made sense what Zara was saying," It never thought of that... Thank you" Richelle said, giving her a hug.

Zara (Contemporary Dancer) POV -
You see, helping Richelle wasn't a big deal. Emily was over reacting for no reason whatsoever.

Emily (Co-Captain) POV -
When I'm walking into the studio I'm shocked to see that Zara has gone against what I said. I really want to talk to her about it so I pull her aside to talk...

Gemini Studio

The twins in the Gemini team were going over the Choreography that they were doing for their solos at the competition. To them, winning Regionals and going to Nationals was just a joke they didn't take seriously. They had been working on Nationals but not really putting much time and effort in if they just wanted to mess with the next step.

"That's good!" The first Twin said, congratulating his brother. "It will help us Syc the next step out!" He chuckled, they were planning something...

The Next Step - Studio A

"Zara, I'm just having trouble realising why you went against my instructions earlier?" Emily asked, She was deadly serious about this. She was a Co - captain, and rules were ment to be followed in her book. "What harm did it do?" Zara asked, nor seeing anything wrong, she began to walk away. "Excuse me, Zara I'm talking to you!" Emily called out.

Zara (Contemporary Dancer) POV -
She needs to learn, not everything can go her way.

Next time - Richelle and Zara head of to compete at the solo competition. There is a shift in mood for some dancers.
