"What do we need?" Alison asks me as we walk down the isle.
My dad is out of town for work tonight and he asked me to do the groceries, the store is just around the corner.
"Milk, bread, some cookies, spaghettis and tomatoes."
Apparently is wasn't a very good idea to take her with me, within a minute I lost her.
I start looking for her like a little kid for his mother. I almost run down all the isles trying to find my friend.
Then, I find her.
"Hey Maddy over here!"
She's -of course- talking to two boys. "This is Liam and his friend Zayn, the guys I told you about." She says proudly.
"Hello, my name is Liam, Alison gave me your number, you can call or text me whenever you feel like it." A pair of brown eyes stare into mine. The other guy, Zayn, nods in agreement.
"Thank you, that's very kind of you." I throw them one of my most fake smiles before shooting a deadly glare at Alison, who's smiling like nothing is going on at all.
"Now girls, we have to go, it was very nice to meet you." The too perfect looking Zayn says.
When the two are out of sight I turn to my blond friend. "What was that?"
I ask her, the frown on my face is still there. "Well yea it was me a pleasure." She says sarcastically while rolling her eyes. "Sorry for giving these damn hot guys your number."
"Allie you don't do that again, it's embarrassing."
"Mad calm down, I just gave your number, I didn't ask him to marry you." She says while putting the pasta in the basket.
"I know but I will find a guy myself, without your help."
"Then you will stay single for ages."
"Then so be it, I better find a guy I really like then being with someone my friend met at the supermarket."
"I'm sorry you're right, but you have to admit they were pretty hot."
"Yea, they pretty were." I smile and pull her into a hug.
We start walking down the isle to the pay desks. I slightly hope Liam and Zayn are already gone. Relief flews through my body as I see them walking towards the door. Liam looks back and gives me a friendly wave what I answer with a bright smile. He actually is nice, maybe I should text him once.
"School almost starts." Alison reminds me. In exactly two weeks school starts again. Allie and I are going to uni. We're going to be roommates like we've planned since we were six years old. I actually look forward to it, I'm almost constantly at school and I can study as much as I want to. There's no dad who tells me what I can't do. I can make my own decisions, the only negative thing is that my father will be home alone for most of the time. I feel a bit guilty about that. Also I'm stressful because I think I'm unprepared. I made a whole planning and I check the site almost daily. I studied now and then and checked the map for a near coffee shop and chose the route I will be using daily.
Still I feel unprepared.
"I know," I sigh. "And we didn't even enjoy out break." I put the groceries in a bag what I drape over my shoulder.
"Yea just because your father is over concerned."
"We still can go to a party." I say, knowing I'm lying. We both take our wheel and start riding next to each other.
"You know he'll never let you go."
She's right, my father literally forbids me to do anything that involves fun.
The wind blows from behind us so my hair is in my face the whole time. Great.
"So uhm.. Tell me about Harry." I try to change the subject.
"Fuck." She breathes and smashes her hand against her lips. "I didn't think about calling him." She almost yells way too dramatically.
Alison drops her bike on the ground just in front of my house that's half as big as hers.
"I'm calling him right now."
I wish I was only half as brave as she is. Her small hands with perfectly lacked nails runs through her blond hair that has the perfect length. She grabs her phone and after not ever two seconds it's against her ear.
In the time I stored my bike she ends the call, a bright smile tugging at her lips. "Saturday at Starbucks, 2pm." She shortly says, her white teeth glancing at me. I can see she's screaming inside, luckily she's saving my ears from that.
"That's just perfect!" I yell. "I can take you if you want."
I like to drive my car, for practice, I got my license a month ago and Alison -not so surprisingly- failed her exam.
"Thank you." She almost whispers.
She pulls me against her slender body. With her tanned skin and blonde hair she looks like she stepped out of a picture of Marc Jacobs.
