*Maddy's POV*

I can see the sun coming up through the window. I've seen literally every hour on the clock. Alison and I talked like we always do and had an amazing night, but when Ali closed her eyes I just couldn't fall asleep. This crazy monday made me forget about my mother's birthday. Louis kept my mind busy over day but now I had no one to talk to over night and I had time and space to think, my mind drifted to old memories I kept for when I would be old. I wanted to save them for my grandchildren and never think about them until then but I failed. This lonely night, all the memories came back. And they hit me right in the face.

"You look absolutely stunning Maddy." My dad smiled, he put his hand on my shoulder and smiled to our reflection in the mirror. He had pinned my hair op and put a little white flower in the dark curls that covered my head.

"Thanks daddy." I smiled back. My small fingers traced the zoom of my white dress. The only thing I could think about was the face of my mother when she'd see me in the white dress she loved so much.

"Let's go." My father said. I turned around, detecting one more flaw. "No wait! Daddy you're not ready!" I yelled. My dad kneeled down in front of my so I could reach his head. I stroke his hair and put his tie in the right way. I may was five but I already was a perfectionist.

"Thanks, what would I be without you?" My father asked. I giggled and hugged him before he lifted me up.

"Come on, let's surprise your mom."

He quietly walked dow the hallway, carrying me in his arms.

It was the 8th of September, my mother's birthday and my dad and I wanted to surprise her with a dinner for three. My mom was expecting nothing when I suddenly storm into her room, finding her with her nose into one of her favorite books. "Happy Birthday!"

She slowly put her book down, when she saw me she closed it and placed it on the night table next to her. I copied the smile on her face as I ran towards her. She lifted me on the bed with her and hugged me tightly.

"Wow you look so pretty!" She said with a sweet voice. "Where is daddy?" She asked. I giggled and yelled for my dad to come in. Her eyes got wide when she saw him in his most beautiful suit. "What did I do to deserve this?" She smiled to him as she stroke my hair. "Just being the incredible mother you are." My dad almost whispered and walked over to us. "Happy birthday sweetheart."

We laid there for some time, just hugging each other before my dad told my mother to put her most beautiful dress on. We didn't want to tell her where we'd go so it stayed a surprise.

She put on her purple dress, the zoom touching her ankles and black heels.

My dad and I swallowed at the same time when she came out of the bathroom, her make up just perfect.

"Let's go." My dad said and kissed his two favorite girls before taking them with him to the restaurant.

| END OF MEMORY |

*Maddy's POV*

"Earth to Maddy!" Alison yells. My eyes snap back to reality. My friend is completely dressed, beautiful as always, ready to go to class.

I find myself sitting up in my bed, staring to the white wall in front of me.

"Babe I know this is a black day for you but the less you think about it the sooner it will be over."

She's right, this day is as black as oil for me and I would prefer sleeping till tomorrow. But I can't, I promised my dad, he needs me today as much as I need his company too.
