Chapter 12: Apres Moi, Le Deluge

*Flashback-Louisiana Territory, 1751-New Orleans*

"For centuries people have been looking in New Orleans for a fresh start hoping to find fortune, adventure even love." A brown carriage with two brown horses in front and a man driving the carriage with two women inside. "Young society women was brought into France in the promise of marrying a proper New Orleans gentleman like the legendary casket girls. Little did they know that the men that were waiting for was far from proper and not at all gentle!" The carriage stops at a crowd of people with pitch forks banging and yelling at the carriage trying to get in. The girls hear screaming and they look at each other scared and then they hear the noise suddenly stop and the carriage rider slowly gets up and walks over to the door and opens it and sees blood and dead bodies scattered everywhere on the ground. Then Rebekah grabs him and pulls him out of the carriage and bites him and he's dead and then approaches the girls and says, "There, there little lambs all the bad man have gone away, us girls have to stay together!" Rebekah leads them out of the forest with their suitcases and finds them good houses.

*Flashback Ends*

*The Present-New Orleans, Parade*

"The casket girl legend lives on, now celebrated in typical New Orleans fashion with stylish costumes, and supernatural flare in my honor. It's a yearly reminder of how women can be oppressed by selfish men and how they can triumph and be brave enough to fight for themselves." Says Rebekah.

*The Compound*

Caroline is standing on a stand in front of a mirror looking at herself wear a beautiful white lacey dress admiring it with a smile and then Elijah appears by the door and sees that she's struggling to zippin it up and asks, "Would you like some help?" Caroline responds with a smile and says, "You may need to use all of your vampire strength?" He smiles and walks over to her and says, "Allow me?" He zippins it up and buttons the top piece. She replies, "Thanks." "Not too many pregnant casket girls, I guess?" He responds admiring her in the dress. "I think you look lovely." She laughs and caresses the small little bump that's forming and he sees her birthmark showing and comments, "I mean I would only... She cuts him off and touches it and interrupts him and says, "Ik keep the freaky werewolf birthmark covered up!" He responds, "Well I don't suspect that any of the riff raff here; would dare lay a hand on you, knowing that your still in protection of my family, still we shouldn't take any chances!" He informs her. "All knocked up and nowhere to go!" She responds sadly. He smiles and offers to go with her, "Well If you wanted to attend the festivities tonight, I'll be more than willing to take you!" She smiles and then turn away from him nervous, turns back to him and says, "You and Nik are barely on speaking terms, so let's not rock the boat k!" He responds sadly, "Of course." And begins to leave the room and suddenly turns back to her when she calls him back and asks nicely if he can unzippins her dress, "Elijah, do you mind?" He walks back to her and says, "Sure." And then he unbuttons the top of it and unzippins the rest of the dress admiring her body before he leaves the room and lets her think to herself alone.

*Saint Anne/Royal Street*

Rebekah is at a flea market and looking for an outfit from the rack of dresses to wear as she says, "Dull, truly hideous!" As Marcel appears behind her and comments, "Your talking bout the clothes or something else?" Rebekah looks to him and says, "No feeling insecure?" Then she looks back down to the clothes and keeps looking as she continues to speak and announce, "This festival might as well be in my honor and then she looks back to him and says, I need a proper costume so bugger off!" She continues searching and then he puts his hand on her back and says, "Bekah?" And she knocks his hand away from her and looks to him pissed off and says, "Don't, you made your damn choice... she pauses and walks back over to where she sees a dress laying at and grabs it and then turns back to him and says, "You and Nik are allies again; you relinquished your rite to touch me!" His phone rings and he looks to her and she smiles and ask sarcastically, "I wonder who that could be?!" She turns back to the dress while he answers the phone and says, "Hello?" On the other line of the phone Klaus informs him that Davina is missing. "Look it seems we've got a problem; it looks like your little bird flew the coop!"
