Chapter 8: Voodoo In My Blood

*Flashback-North American Gulf Coast, 500 A.D.-Nighttime*

A native tribe is surrounding a baby basket near a hut. Each member of the tribe are laying pink flowers around the basket. The Elder comes out of the hut with the baby girl whose crying and holds her in the air and chants and everybody kneels and the baby stops crying as the Elder continues and then lays the baby in the crib and smiles as she's asleep. The fire suddenly goes out and everybody stands and looks around and gasps scared. The Elder looks back at the baby and sees the flowers diminish and turn brown and the Elder gasps in shock. The Baby glows blue and the Elder looks scared and shocked.

*Flashback Ends*

*The Present, New Orleans-The Compound, Morning*

Faye is standing near a table and sees the jaw moving in the white circle and hears voices from Davina and the Ancestors and moves around the table curious and looks at the jaw. Caroline sees it moving and asks, "Faye what's going on?" Faye responds and asks, "Mom, do you hear them too?" Caroline looks confused and grabs her arm and kneels in front of her and asks serious now, "Look at me, tell me what you heard?" Klaus walks in and asks, "What's going on?" Faye responds to Caroline and reveals to her, "They said that were connected to this, You, me, Tatia, and Aunt Claire!" Caroline looks shocked and over to Klaus. Klaus remarks, "Look if this fossil is whispering lies, I'll gladly throw it in the river!" Faye responds and says, "No. Not the bone. The Witches. The Ancestors!" Klaus looks shocked as she continues, "They have a message for us. A warning!" Caroline cups her face with her hand and responds, "Tell me what they said?" Faye responds and reveals, "They want you to go to St. Anne's Church, to talk them. They said you have to do exactly what they say and you have to do it now!" She looks back at the fossil and says sternly, "Before the Hollow comes for us!" Klaus nods and looks over at Caroline whose still in shock.

*Virginia, Mystic Falls/New Orleans-The Compound*

Alaric leaves the gas station and walks over to his car and stands near it in the parking lot and is on the phone with Klaus, "You need to relax! I'm on my way to New Orleans rite now and I have good news. Luke let me in the Lockwood Estate and gave me one creepy ass ancient finger bone." Klaus is walking down the stairs and responds, "You efforts are appreciated, now if you could only pick up the pace!" Alaric laughs and comments, "Easy Klaus, the only reason why I'm heading your way is because I don't want you anywhere near Mystic Falls. Besides Luke just lost his brother and his sister is pregnant and things tend to get murdery when your here!" Klaus responds and admits, "Well that's fair points. Now Alaric, foreign pleasantries run their course... He walks down the hallway and Alaric responds and says sternly, "Oh hey, one more thing? The Lockwood's they didn't just safe guard the bone. They kept records of names, dates and locations. Turns out they had knowledge of other families that who were in charge of guarding the rest of the remains. Now does the name Labonair mean anything to you?" Klaus sighs as he's referring to Caroline and Claire's family and responds and says, "It's familiar, yeah." Alaric nods and says, "Good that might be your lead to find the rest of the remains. Which you'll have to do urself, because my days of fighting monsters are over! K so here's the deal? I will be at Jack's Barbecue Shack off of root 59 until 2:00pm. If your not their by 2:10? I chuck the bone and the records in the dumpster and I'm gone and then you can fish them out of the trash urself!" Klaus continues walking down the hall and retorts to him serious, "Well I'm afraid I'll be otherwise occupied, so you'll be meeting Elijah! And if perchance that he's running late? I suggest you exercise some patience and have urself a beer. Otherwise you'll have a few more monsters to worry bout!" He hangs up and goes downstairs. Alaric smiles and hangs up.

*Back at The Compound*

Caroline starts to leave and Elijah asks sad, "Please don't go?" She walks over to him and says, "The whole point of you going to Vincent was to get the Ancestors on our side! Finding the bones, stopping The Hollow from getting them!" He puts his hand out and asks sternly, "Why are you doing this?" She responds and says sternly, "Because they've asked me too. Who else is going to go? You? You slit the throats of four witches!" He responds and says sternly, "That was a necessity!" She responds and says in disbelief, "Really? Was it? Cause it seems like there is always some necessity for some awful thing!" He responds, "We are at war with a creature we barely understand." She nods and says, "That's the point! We don't understand this thing or how to stop it? But one thing is for sure we need help! I'm going to go get it!" She leaves and Klaus walks over to him and agrees with her, "She's not wrong! We do need allies. While we'll appeal to the local spirits, you and Marcel should march forces?" Elijah responds and says confused and in disbelief, "I beg your pardon?" Klaus responds and says sternly, "We are in a race, to find those bones. Marcel knows the city. He's the enemy of our enemy! Now c'mon, perhaps it's time to mend bridges rather than throwing people off them!" He leaves and Elijah sighs.
