Forty five minutes after Scott and I returned to our suite, I was dressed and ready to go but Scott wasn't out of the dressing room he was in with Robert. I read Hamlet while I waited until I had finished it. I told Emma to return the book to the reading room and stood to look out of the window.

"What are you doing?" Scott asked. I turned around and smiled at him.

"Just looking at the water," I said. He walked closer with me, his arms behind his back, clearly hiding something from me.

"It is beautiful, isn't it?" he asked as I turned back around. I put my gloved hand on the window and smiled.

"It is beautiful but I don't think that is why you took so long," I said as I looked around and then at Scott.

"I wanted to get you a present," he said. He pulled his hands out to reveal a medium sized box. I took it in my hands and sat on the couch. I undid the ribbon and took off the wrapping on the box. The box was beautiful.

The box was wooden and had an elegant design on the top that looked like a flower. I ran my hand over the top and enjoyed the carved wood. Scott took the book and opened it. Inside, there was new pencils and a sharpener for the pencils. I gasped as I touched the drawing pencils that he got for me. My eyes trailed to velvet that was lining the inside of the box to protect my pencils. I smiled and looked at Scott.

"This is the nicest gift that anyone has ever given me," I said. He closed the box and turned it over so the bottom was looking at us. Property of Mrs. Mae Stephanie Sire was carved into the wood and I felt tears roll down my cheeks.

"It took forever to find your full name. I ordered this the night we were officially engaged and I thought I could win you over with it. I had to ask Thomas while we were smoking and he got me your middle name for me. I went myself to ensure that the carver would start right away," he told me.

"You thought about our future and wrote Sire," I whispered.

"That was a late edition. I told him to add it this morning through Robert once I knew that you were happy. Once I knew that we love each other," he said as he touched my name on the box.

"I love it. Thank you," I said as I hugged him while still clasping the box.

"I made sure it would fit in your jackets' pockets. It is a perfect fit for your jackets. That way you don't drop your pencils somewhere again like you did in the boiler room," he chuckled. I laughed a little and continued looking at the box.

"Bring me my jacket, Emma," I said as I looked up briefly from my present. "Robert, go to bridge deck and see if Captain Smith is there. If not check by the squash courts and check there. Tell Captain Smith that I would like to draw him and his wife at dinner tonight if they allow," I ordered. Robert nodded and walked out of the room as Emma brought my jacket. I tested the box in the pocket and smiled when the box fit in.

"I told you that the box would fit in the pockets of your jackets," Scott said as I pulled it back out and he took my jacket.

"I know but I wanted to check. It's so beautiful," I said as he put an arm around me.

"Just like you," he said. I blushed and opened the box again to look at the pencils.

"How did you know what pencils to get?" I asked.

"I checked what pencils that you had in your old carrier and asked the store what the best set was," he said.

"My old pencils were expensive. Why did you buy the most expensive set?" I asked.

"Because you are worth every last penny... or as you British folk say last pence," he said and I giggled a little.

"Thank you, Scotty. It really means a lot to me that you thought about me and tried to impress me with material culture," I said. He kissed me and smirked.

"I think that I should be your new French model," he whispered. I felt the back of my neck warm up and I looked through my lashes.

"We are going to be married, Scotty," I stated as I looked at my lap. He touched my hair and I looked at me.

"How can you hone in your skills without a person to be a model for you?" he asked. I stared at him until Robert walked in. With the Smiths. "Captain Smith, I apologise for being late. I wanted to give a gift to Mae," Scott said as he stood.

"It is fine, Mr. Sire," Captain Smith said, "Sarah wanted to see one of the suites anyways." I stood as my face cooled down and smiled at the Smiths.

"Feel free to look around. I am still looking around myself," I said. Mrs. Smith started looking around and Robert stood by Emma at the front door. I looked at the box in my hands and put it on the table behind me.

"Your manservant told us that Miss Morgan would like to draw us at dinner," Captain Smith said. I smiled as I turned back around.

"It would be my pleasure," I said. Sarah smiled and Captain Smith nodded.

"Very well, as long as that isn't a problem for you, Miss Morgan," Captain Smith said. I shook my head.

"It would be no problem, Captain Smith," I told him. He smiled at me and looked at his wife.

"Shall we get going to the restaurant? I am certain that the women are hungry," Captain Smith said and I looked at Scott.

"After you," Scott said as he helped me put on my jacket. I slid my box into my pocket and Emma handed my drawing folder to Scott. Captain Smith and Sarah started walking out as Scott took my arm. I stopped him and looked into his eyes.

"I think I need a model tonight," I said. He smiled at me.

"Emma, Robert, you have until the eighth off," he said and I giggled as he pulled me out of the room, laughing.
