After dinner, Scott opted to not go to the smoking room with the other gentlemen, saying he had a headache and I retired to take care of my fiancé that would have needed help with caring for himself that evening. However, we walked out of the dining hall and we started laughing.

"They were so stiff the whole time," Scott laughed as we walked down the hallway. He was walking backwards and I was holding up my skirt as we walked.

"How can people sit through those dinners? The dinner is filled with meaningless talk and more food that is ever needed for anyone," I said. He laughed and grabbed my arms.

"You were so beautiful at dinner. So beautiful," he told me as he stopped and looked into my eyes. I felt my cheeks warm up as I stared at him and he stared at me so I did the only logical thing. I ran away from him again.

I only made it to the bow before he got me in his arms. I squealed and Scott held me as I bent over. He laughed and I laughed as well. I turned around to look at him and I held on to his neck.

"How do you always catch me?" I asked. He touched my face and I smiled at him.

"Because I am determined to keep you and you are not determined to leave me," he said and I kissed him in the middle of the darkness. He picked me up by my waist and swung me in a circle as we kissed.

"Scott Sire, what are you doing?" a man asked. Scott put me down and looked over. He smiled and shook his head.

"First Officer William Murdoch, it is pleasure to run into you this evening," Scott said as I studied the man.

"Scott, it is very hard not to run into someone on a ship," Murdoch stated and I laughed at the way Murdoch was talking to Scott. "And this must be the fine young lady that you were telling me about just last week." I froze and looked at Scott.

"Officer Murdoch, this is Miss Mae Morgan, my fiancée," Scott said. I shook Officer Murdoch's hand as he smiled at me.

"Scott told me about when you first met. I never met a sailor that was so interested in a land girl like he was with you. He told all of us that you were the jewel of the ocean and every officer could look at you but he was trying for your attention," Officer Murdoch told me. I smiled at him.

"He knows what Ismay did, Mae. You can say anything you want," Scott told me.

"Mr. Ismay opened the door for us to get engaged," I stated. Scott touched my back and I looked at him.

"How about we go and see Officer Lowe?" Scott asked. Murdoch laughed and nodded.

"You know where his room is," Murdoch said. Scott nodded and I was pulled by Scott to a flight of stairs that went into crew quarters.

"Scott, what the hell? You aren't suppose to be down here," a man said.

"Harold, are you really going to kick me out of the crew member corridor when I came to meet you?" Scott asked. The man shook hands with Scott so I figured that this man must Officer Lowe.

"This must be Miss Morgan," Officer Lowe said and I smiled at the Officer.

"Officer Lowe, it is a pleasure to meet you," I said before Scott punched his shoulder.

"Harold and I have been friends for ten years," Scott said. Officer Lowe looked away.

"You were ten and I was nineteen," Officer Lowe stated, "Now I have to pretend that I don't know any of the officers here."

"You don't know any of the officers on board, you know an ex officer since I am trading in my officer hat for my fiancée," Scott said. Lowe looked at Scott and shook his head.

"Miss Morgan, you really did a number on this man, didn't you? I have never seen him take such a liking to any other woman aboard any ship before," Officer Lowe said.

"Any other woman?" I asked, looking over at Scott, ejecting laughter from Officer Lowe.

"Most were not as beautiful as you and the ones that we thought were beautiful didn't have politeness that you have which makes you the perfect wife," Scott said. I smiled and Officer Lowe looked at us.

"You two look good together," Officer Lowe said. I smiled at Officer Lowe then Scott who had wrapped his arm around my waist and was staring at something behind Officer Lowe.

"Don't look but I think some of the stewards are having a problem with second class, right behind you," Scott muttered. Officer Lowe nodded and looked over his shoulder but hid it by looking at the wall.

"Get the lady out of here. You are in the first class and you do not have to be in the center of other people that may start fighting," Lowe said and Scott took my arm only to walk towards the second class passengers starting to make noise.

"Scott, no," I stated as I stopped. He looked at me and then the group. "It's not your job anymore to deal with them. In the words of the first class, which may I remind you that we are apart of, your job is to protect me and not engage in lowly behavior such as violence," I told him. He bit his cheek.

"Fine." He gripped my arm and stromed back up the stairs.
