After the life jacket inspection, Scott took me to starboard side of the ship away from where the ferry was loading the passengers from Queenstown. I thought we were going to watch the horizon but he took me down to the E Deck. I knew exactly what we were doing. Or so I thought.

"Be careful. We can't be spotted here," he whispered to me as some stewards walked by and he pushed me against the wall. I laughed and he smiled at me.

"We are free to move from deck to deck. Why are we hiding?" I asked as he opened a door and pushed me into the room. It was filled with equipment that I could only guess what it would be used for.

"Because Ismay would kill both of us if he saw us here or heard that we were down here," he said. I laughed as he opened the door and then closed it again only to lock the door.

"What are we doing down here?" I asked as he looked around the room. He smiled at me.

"I want to show you something. Something that I think you should know but you can't tell anyone about it," he told me as he opened a door latch on the floor. "Down we go," he said as he offered his hand to me. I stepped onto the ladder only to have him swing down and get below me.

"Scott, what are you doing here? We all heard that you were taking your fiancée in first class," a man said. Scott smiled as he helped me off the ladder.

"I am traveling with my fiancée James," Scott said as he turned around. I only got a look at Scott's back so I stepped around him to see a man that was young and looked fairly strong.

"Is this her? It is a pleasure to meet the woman that pull the most honest man away from his duties," James said as I shook his hand.

"He is over doing it today. What do you need from me now?" Scott asked as he leaned on the wall behind us. I kept my back straight as I smiled at James.

"Tell me 'bout the rest of this ship. We are burnin' up down here and I ain't got the slightest idea of what might be goin' on up on the top side," James said and I laughed.

"She is a beaut," Scott said, "Probably the best ship I have ever served on. It is the largest man made thing in the world and probably the most beautiful."

"I could only imagine how it looks," James said. I smiled at James as he moved his hair. "Now, the small chat doesn't explain why you are here," James said.

"I decided that I would show my fiancée our smoking gun," Scott said. James smiled and raised an eye brow.

"Old money like her?" James asked. It was my turn to raise my eyebrow.

"Old money? James, all due respect but I know for a fact that I can do your job that you are clearly slacking from," I told him. Scott smiled.

"This is Will Morgan's daughter," Scott said. James raised his eyebrows and nodded.

"Your father is someone not to screw with. He showed all of that when we were just talkin'," James said, "That son of a b***h got himself thrown off the damn ship."

"I am aware of that. He tried to kill my fiancé," I said. James looked at the ground and I looked at Scott who put his hand on my back.

"James, would you like to escort us to the smoking gun?" Scott asked. James smirked and gestured towards who knows what since I didn't know part of a ship, especially when I couldn't see anything.

"Well, ladies and gentlemen, or rather, lady and gent, to your left you got boilers and to your right you got coal," James said as we walked forward. Scott got a lot of attention and some of the men gave me attention that was out of line but Scott dealt with it with single glances at the men who instantly looked away.

"What is this smoking gun that you two are talking about?" I asked as we walked to the holding rooms.

"Something that White Star might be very upset about if the public finds out about it," Scott said. I looked at him as we stopped at a door and Scott went to take off my coat that he made me wear that morning.

"Is there something wrong with the ship?" I asked. James and Scott looked at each other as Scott laid my coat on a box nearby and he held my arms.

"Nothing is wrong, per say, but it may put the ship at risk," James said before Scott could say anything. James opened the door and we were met with fire trying to lick us. I shrieked and Scott pulled me to his chest as James closed the door quickly.

"That was a fire!" I yelled at the two men. They exchanged a look. "We need to tell someone that there is a fire burning down here!"

"It won't do a damn thing, Mae. There isn't firefighter aboard the Titanic and Mr. Ismay, I am willing to bet doesn't want anyone to know that there has been a fire here for maybe three weeks," Scott said. I looked at Scott and James then at the ground.

"Scott?" I whispered.

"Yes, Mae?" he asked.

"I think if we talk to Mr. Ismay about our smoking gun and make sure that he is going to be making sure that we are set for the rest of lives, even if he has to take off the suit on his back," I told him.

"I like the way that you think," he said as he kissed my forehead.

"Scott, you got a keeper there. Someone that will keep you both alive," James said. I smiled at Scott and he nodded.

"Oh, trust me, I know," Scott said.
