That evening, Scott and I walked down to the reception room in our evening wear for dinner. I smiled and held Scott's arm as others welcomed us or thanked us for bringing back the youthness that they had long forgotten. I was happy that people didn't think that we were out of line.

"Excuse me, you two are the ones that started the dancing this afternoon, correct?" a man asked. We turned around and found the Strauses looking at us. Scott smiled at them and nodded.

"Yes, sir. I am Scott Sire and this is my fiancée, Miss Mae Morgan," Scott said as he shook Mr. Straus's hand.

"Pleasure to meet both of you. I am Mr. Isidor Straus and this is my wife, Ida," Mr. Straus said. Scott nodded and looked at Mrs Straus.

"Perhaps you two would like to join our group for dinner this evening?" I asked. I don't know what I was expecting as an answer but his answer surprised me.

"Yes, we would love to join you this evening. Your youthfulness reminds us of when we were married and perhaps some time with you will remind us how we were," Mr. Straus said. I smiled at Scott and he nodded at the Strauses.

"I hope you don't mind that Mrs. Molly Brown and the Astors will be joining them us," I stated.

"Heavens no. The more the merrier," Mr. Straus said and I smiled as Mrs. Robert, Elisabeth, and Georgette came up to us.

"Good evening, Scott, Mae," Mrs. Robert said.

"Mrs. Robert, Elisabeth, Georgette, may we introduce Mr. Isidor Straus and his wife, Mrs. Ida Straus," I said as I stepped to the side so the Strauses could see the trio of women that were standing there.

"It's a pleasure," Mrs Straus said.

"Would you mind if we join you? Our dinner group has fallen ill with sea sickness," Elisabeth stated. Scott had a odd look.

"What's the matter?" I whispered.

"Nothing. Just relax," he whispered back and I nodded.

By the time we sat down, the Astors, Molly, Thomas, Mr. Ismay and Captain Smith all joined us for dinner. I sat next to Scott on my left and Captain Smith on my right. I tried to be the most proper woman that I could be but I felt like I wasn't do well enough.

"Mae is British," Maddie told the table.

"Oh dear," I muttered. "That is true but what is the point of mentioning that, Maddie?"

"She is from the third class," Maddie stated. I realised what she was doing. She wanted them to talk about me because I was different.

"Really? I couldn't tell that she was new money," Mrs Straus stated. I looked at the table as Scott took my hand.

"We didn't know at first either. But she grew up in the slums of London and visited this lady named Mrs Freeman when her mother worked there," JJ stated.

"How was living in the slums of London?" Mr Ismay asked. Everyone looked at me except Scott.

"The happiest place on Earth. Everyone there was happy and worked together. I remember Christmas was when I traded my toys with other children and we all got one new toy for the holiday," I stated. I thought about all the fond times in the slums of the city and how everyone worked together on the floor because all of us children were around same age and they wanted all of us in self sustaining marriages that would get us out of the slums.

"Where did they buy the new toys?" Mr Straus asked. I smiled.

"It depended. I got a doll from Macy's once and my parents use to go to Macy's every year after that to get me a new outfit for my doll," I said as my voice dropped thinking about the doll that was safe in my trunk. I had all the clothes still but Sarah was to hold them until she could send them in a package when I asked for them.

"You got a Macy's doll?" Georgette asked in awe. I smiled at the table and blushed.

"For a third class family, I am surprised that your family was able to afford the Macy's doll," Mr Straus stated. I looked at him and smiled.

"My mother and father saved every penny they could for two years to buy me the doll. I am forever grateful that they bought me the doll," I stated as I looked up.

"Well now you don't have to wait two years to buy a Macy's doll," Mrs Robert stated. I forced a smile.

"It actually means a lot more due to the fact that it took two years for us to get the doll because it shows what hard work truly does for everyone," I stated. Molly lifted her glass and smiled.

"To hard work," Molly said. Everyone raised their glasses and repeated what Molly said which made me want to say that they don't know hard work but I bit my tongue.

"I am sure that your parents are proud of you," Mr Ismay said. I froze and looked at his smirk that was clearly a knowing one. I gripped my wine glass and tried to keep my face level.

"My father is. My mother died when I was younger," I stated as I looked at Mr Ismay and everyone was silent.

"Mae, are you okay?" Scott asked. I looked at him with his concerned eyes and I wiped my cheeks.

"Pardon me. I must get some fresh air," I said as I ran out of the dining hall. I went up the grand staircase and on to the deck where I hit the railing and held on, letting all my tears roll down my face.
