After everyone ate, the server brought out a cake that had pink frosting and white designs. Scott held my hand under the table as I forced a smile as they put the cake in front of me.

"Thank you," Molly said. Then they all started singing happy birthday.

"Thank you all," I said as Scott cut into the cake to give out pieces.

"You're welcome, darling. It's the least we can do for a beauty like you," Molly said. Scott gave me the first slice and I smiled.

"Thank you," I whispered. He nodded and I started eating my cake silently.

After the cake, John stood and kissed Maddie's cheek. He looked at Scott.

"Scott, I hear the smoking room is quite spectacular," John said. Scott looked at me and I nodded so he stood with a smile.

"Shall we see for ourselves?" Scott asked and the gentlemen left, leaving me with Molly and Maddie.

"Oh my, did you hear about Ms Jenny Watson? I heard she is having an affair," Maddie said.

"I knew that she was. Anyone can tell that she has been much to fun for being married for ten years," Molly said. I raised an eyebrow and watched as they started going back and forth about different people. I was utterly confused so I took a breath.

"Excuse me ladies but I must get back to the room. Scott and I are leaving for Southampton in the morning and I need to get some rest," I said to save my own life.

"Well, I'll look up your address when I return to America," Molly said.

"Of course," I said. Maddie stood up and hugged me.

"I'll find your suite on the Titanic once we board," Maddie said.

"Just meet me in the writing and reading room an hour after we set sail," I said. She nodded and sat back down only to continue gossiping with Molly. I walked to the elevator and went directly to the room.

"Miss Morgan," Robert said as I walked in.

"Robert, how are you?" I asked. He looked slightly taken aback.

"I'm quite okay, Miss Morgan. How are you?" he asked. I nodded.

"Tired and confused," I said. He studied my face.

"I apologise for that. Would you like me to get someone?" he asked. I don't know why but I just started crying. I sat on the couch and cried.

"I want Scott," I cried. Robert nodded and walked out of the room as I continued to cry. Emma walked out of the bedroom and looked at me.

"Would you like something, miss?" Emma asked, awkwardly. I shook my head.

Two minutes later, Scott came in and I was put into his shoulder so I could cry without Robert and Emma watching.

"Robert, Emma, you are dismissed," Scott ordered, loudly and harshly. I heard a door open and closed.

"Don't be so harsh with them. It ain't their fault I am cryin'," I stuttered into his shoulder.

"I know but I don't want them going around saying things about you to other people," he said. I pulled back a little bit.

"I ain't got a clue what set me off. I walked up here and started cryin," I told him.

"It's been a long day. You're just tired. Let's go to bed and in the morning, you'll feel better," he said. I shook my head as he put his hands lightly on my neck so his thumbs would be on my jaw.

"I'm sorry," I whispered. He gave me a look of confusion.

"For what? You can be emotional sometimes. You've been undergoing a lot of change and you deserve to cry," he said.

"I cried yesterday and now we are goin' to be the gossip of society," I said.

"Yesterday you cried because your father disapproved at the fact that we can build a life together," he said. I looked at the small bruise that was on his jaw.

"I still cried," I said. He sighed and moved my hair that had fallen from my up do.

"Crying isn't a bad thing. It isn't a weakness like people like to make us believe. All it does is shows the fact that you are human and connects people," he said. I nodded. "Do you want to go to bed now?" he asked. Another nodded.

"Yes, I do," I said. He picked me up, earning a weak giggle, and walked me to the dressing room.

"Do you need help getting ready for bed or can you do it yourself?" he asked. I looked at him.

"Can you help me?" I asked, softly. He took a deep breath and nodded.

"I can but you need to tell me how to help you change," he said. I nodded.

He started by unzipping my dress and tugging it gently off of my shoulders. I let it fall and stepped out of the dress so he could pick up the dress while I stood in my undergarments. He put the dress on a chair nearby and turned me around carefully so my back was to him. He untied my corset and I unhooked the front so he could slid it off of my waist. I stood in the sheer white dress that was light and comfortable. He pulled out the night gown that Emma packed for me and then unzipped my slip dress. He helped me slip my night gown on and he picked me up again walked to the bedroom.

"You ain't talkin' like a third class member anymore," I whispered as he laid me on the bed.

"I spent too much time with other officers on the ships so I picked up the first class member talk," he said.

"You don't have to pretend with me, Scotty," I told him as he pulled the blankets over me.

"I know that, Mae. Just go to sleep. I will be here soon then we can go back right after breakfast tomorrow," he said. I nodded and closed my eyes. Sleep crashed into me instantly.
