The taxi stopped and the driver opened my door to help me get out. Scott followed and took my arm. He talked to the driver who leaned against the taxi as Scott turned to me. I looked around at the shipyard as Scott led the way to the building that had a single light on.
"Mr Anderson?" Scott asked. An older gentleman looked up from the desk and smiled at Scott. I stayed in the shadows out of fear.
"Scott, my boy, look at you. Is that the tailored suit that you dreamt about?" Mr Anderson asked. Scott shrugged.
"Partly. I am certain that you heard of the disaster of the Titanic?" Scott asked. Mr Anderson cocked his head at Scott and walked towards him.
"Thank the Lord that you are alive," Mr Anderson said. I smiled as Mr Anderson hugged Scott. Mr Anderson looked up and saw me standing in the shadows. "And your guest?" Scott turned around.
"This is my fiancée, Mae Morgan," Scott said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me forward. Mr Anderson looked at me and nodded at me.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss Morgan," Mr Anderson said. I smiled.
"It is a pleasure to meet you as well," I said. He raised his eyebrows at Scott.
"British," he stated. Scott shrugged and smiled a little. I turned my head to see Emma's and Robert's taxi pulling up behind our taxi.
"She is something that I cannot believe God graced me with her presence in my life," Scott said as he looked at me. I smiled and he squeezed my hand.
"Now, there is a million things that I want to talk to you about but your fiancée looks tired and you went through a really harsh event. Get your fiancée comfortable and relaxed before she has to be put in the hospital," Mr Anderson stated. Scott nodded and looked at me.
"We will come visit you soon, Mr Anderson," I stated as Scott took my arm.
"We will and we will invite you to the wedding as well," Scott said. I smiled as Mr Anderson nodded at us. Scott led the way back out to the taxi and I got into the taxi. Scott followed after giving the taxi driver some directions and I leaned on his shoulder.
"I forgot that we need to plan the wedding still," I whispered as he put his arm around me to hold me closer. He kissed my forehead and I closed my eyes.
"We can take our time planning the wedding," he said and I shook my head.
"I would like to plan it quickly and enjoy being a married couple," I said. He kissed my forehead and I sighed as I closed my eyes.
"Mae, it's time to wake up," Scott whispered to me and I shifted as he sat me up. I looked at him and he smiled. "We are home." I followed his eyes and saw the most beautiful mansion that I had ever seen. I let out a breath as the taxi driver ran around to open the door for me and Scott walked over to take my hand.
"This is ours?" I whispered as Scott linked our arms and led the way up the stairs to the get the front door. Scott stopped in front of the door and held my arms as he stood behind me.
"Fourteen bedrooms, ten bathrooms, and the biggest dining hall that money can buy," he told me as Emma and Robert walked up, "And that doesn't count the employee quarters that is in the back and the ten square acres that is out back." I felt tears well up in my eyes and he wiped my eyes as the tears threatened to fall.
"I never had something like this to call home before," I said as a butler opened the door for us and Scott led the way into the mansion. I smiled at foyer that had a chandelier and stairs wrapping up to the top floor.
"Welcome home, Mr Sire and Miss Morgan," the butler said and I smiled at him. He nodded and Scott continued walking forward so we could have a better look of the mansion.
"Scott... this is amazing," I whispered. He swung me around so I was standing in front of him.
"You are amazing and I cannot imagine my life without you now," he said and I suddenly thought about the Johnstons. I looked down and thought about how I knew that they died. Scott touched my face.
"I apologise, it's just we went through a lot and I miss a lot of people that we met," I whispered as tears rolled down my cheeks. He wiped my cheeks and looked at another maid that walked up.
"Please get our bed ready. Miss Morgan needs to sleep and I will be joining her shortly," Scott said.
"Yes Mr Sire," the maid said and I stepped back.
"Where is our room?" I asked, softly. Scott held my arm and we walked upstairs to a nice white door that was cracked open. Scott pushed it open and I gasped as the beautiful bed that had a curtain around it. The maid had it pulled back but I looked at Scott in awe.
"Do you like it?" he asked. I nodded as Emma walked up and lowered her head.
"Miss Morgan, would you like to get ready for bed?" Emma asked. I nodded and smiled as I realised that all that was my new life.
