You hum, repetetively clicking your ballpoint pen against your desk, as you stare over the top of your monitor.

At the office, was the last place you wanted to spend your Saturday.

Conveniently, most of the staff that worked at the same branch as you all decided to call in sick on the sunny 78° Saturday, only leaving you and about three other employees. It would've been your only day off this week.

That is, up until you got called in.

But the lack of a vacation wasn't the only thing that prevented a steady thought process.

It was your deskmate, Kim Taehyung. Just recently, his workspace was taken up, so his desk was moved right next to yours. Ever since you showed up to work at the office, he'd been making flirtatious advances on you.

You initially brushed it off as some player attempting to add another name to his list.

If you know what I mean.

But slowly the flirtatious remarks became serious date proposals, and what you thought you knew about Kim Taehyung was completely rinsed off, and you were left with a clean slate.

Now, you don't know what to do. Nor did you know what you felt. You'd like to say that you felt nothing for you childish deskmate, but you couldn't easily say that.

And you aren't sure if you'd mean it.

"Whatcha thinking about?" A familiar voice asks right next to your ear, warm breath tickling your neck. You flinch, meeting Taehyung's gaze.

Of course he's one of the few people who opted not to call in sick and enjoy the sun.

So now the cycle will be maintained.

  He asks you out.

  You decline.

You que the internal screams and the external blush.

    Wash.

    Rinse.

    Repeat.

"I was wondering why you decided not to call in sick and soak up the sunshine.

"I'm not sick." He says simply.

"We both know that the majority of the people absent today aren't sick either."

He laughs, relaxing against his spinning chair. You close your eyes, listening to his melodic laugh. In the least creepy way possible, you loved his laugh.

You open your eyes to see him flashing his boxy smile, earning a sequence of dramatic heart-flutters.

"Eh. I thought I wouldn't see your beautiful smile either way. So I decided to stay here and get paid. Looks like that was the right choice.

You immediately get flustered, and cover your mouth with the sleeve of your dress shirt. Shaking your head, you wheel back to your own desk and stare at your monitor.

You stare at the words on the screen, desperately trying to focus. You had far more graphs to study and fill out before you could be released to go home. And Taehyung's pick-up lines and admittedly cute compliments were not helping.

Breathing out a sigh, you slide your yellow notepad towards you and flip your pen back into a writing position. The sooner you get out of this stuffy office, the better.

"Am I distracting you~?" The familiar voice returns, cooing against the shell of your ear. You flinch, holding out your ballpoint pen like a sword to Taehyung's face. You hadn't even noticed him creep up right next to your face.

"Yes. Now you are." You retort evenly, too exhausted by his ability to irritate you out of your previous concentration.

"Sure you weren't just thinking about me?"

   Mind reader?

"No. I was kidding. But I'm flattered that you think about me too."

   I said that out loud?

  "Yes, (Y/N)."

You groan, slamming your cranium against your desk calender, completely brushing off the headache that already pierced your head.

Taehyung quitely laughs, scooting closer to you. In return, you scoot away. He kicks out, stopping the wheels of your chair with the toe of his shoe.

He leans in, letting the intoxicating scent of cologne and mint sweep through your senses. Instinctively, you lean away as far as you can, despite admittedly enjoying his closeness.

"C-can I help y-you?" You stutter, internally cursing yourself for your lack of a strong outward facade.

"Yes, in fact." He says, so close that you could smell peppermint on his breath. You swallow, meeting his dark eyes. You watch him as he watches you, gripping the arms of your chair for dear life.

"I know you feel what I feel," he says, brushing his nose against the shell of your ear.

"And what exactly, do I feel?" You ask, bravery regained.

"You want me as much as I want you, don't you, (Y/N)?"

"Then what're you waiting for, Kim Taehyung?"

"(Y/N), will you go out with me next Saturday? For real, this time."

"Sure." You shrug, turning back towards your monitor just as your boss walks into the room.
