✔The Beach | Seokjin

   

   The scent of salty air and seaweed flooded Seokjin's nose, clouding his senses. But he didn't mind. 

 Because you loved the beach. 

 You loved everything about it. The sand between your toes, the smell of salty air, and watching the sun settle over the horizon, under a blanket of darkness. Seokjin didn't care for the beach. In fact, everything that you loved about it, he hated. 

  If only he'd taken you do the beach more. 

  If only he'd noticed when you became more and more depressed. 

  If only he'd listened to you when you'd asked for help. 

  Seokjin loved your eyes. The way the light danced off those (E/C) hues.

  If only he'd paid attention, where one could clearly see depression assuming the light that once overwhelmed your eyes everytime you looked at him. 

  He blinks away the tears that gathered at the corners of his dark eyes. It was a regular occassion, in Seokjin's day. 

 Ever since it happened. 

 He would find himself staring at the empty spaces that you used to inhabit, with cheeks wet with tears. 

  He would find himself regretting every move he made. 

  He would find himself missing you, and unable to pull your warmth back into his arms. 

  "Hyung..." Namjoon's deep voice calls out, his arm circling around his broad-shouldered friend's shoulders. Seokjin doesn't move, nor acknowledge the band leader's presense. He continued staring at the water. 

 But it wasn't the water. It wasn't the ocean. 

 It was a gravestone. 

 "It's been a year, hyung. (Y/N) would want you to let go." 

  "Don't tell me what (Y/N) does and doesn't want. Even I was oblivious to what she wanted. What she needed." 

  "Jin..."

  "No, Namjoon. Don't. Not now. Not today." 

  "Then when, Seokjin?! When are you going to accept the fact that she's gone? She ended it. She ended what you had!" 

  "Because." 

  "Because why?" Namjoon demands. 

  "It's her birthday today."
