    She always promised that she'd pick up whenever he called.

    She always promised that she'd never leave him, ever.

    She always promised that she'd be careful.

    He never thought that she'd break all three promises in the blink of an eye.

    It was his fault, of course. He had picked a fight with her, and made the monumental mistake of breaking her heart.

    He always promised that he'd never hurt her.

     He always promised that he'd protect her from pain.

     He told her he never loved her.

     He told her she was a dare.

     He told her she was his biggest mistake.

     He told her to leave.

     So she left. She walked out the door, not bringing anything with her. She walked into traffic.

      He told her to leave him alone.

      And she did.

     "I'm sorry,  I must not be able to get to the phone right now. Please leave a message!" Your voice calls out. Seokjin hangs up, dropping the phone into his lap.

     It was futile, calling you every single day. Hoping you would pick up. You would never pick up. And, if by some miraculous chance that you did, you wouldn't want to talk to him.

    He broke you.

    He hurt you.

    He broke you.

    He put you in a coma.

    He broke you.

   He looked down at your contact. He still had your old photo, of him kissing your cheek. He still had your name, with hearts that framed your contact name.

    Seokjin didn't have the heart to change it. It was like he was giving up that memory he had of you.

     He couldn't accept that you were really gone.

    His thumb presses down on your contact name. Your phone would ring. He kept it charged next to your hospital bed at all times. It was kind of like a lifeline for him.

   As long as it rang to the end, it meant you were alive.

   As long as no one picked up.

   "Hello?"

    "Jinnie?"
