Jeanine:

I sat up and leaned over him to turn the light on. I looked at him as he wiped his eyes.

They were bloodshot red and he kept on staring up at the ceiling, not wanting to make eye contact with me. "Jeanine I need you to tell me that I didn't make a mistake asking you to be my girlfriend." He said, sounding dead serious.

My heart was pounding in my chest as my eyes grew big. "What!" I said loudly, almost yelling. How could he just have said that?

He sat up, looking at me.

"How can you ask such a thing!" I said punching his shoulder. He sat up and turned to sit on the side of the bed, resting his elbows on his knees as he leaned forward.

"Jeanine, what I dreamt is something I never want to happen. I don't want to lose you." He said, the crack in his voice audibly hearable. I scooted closer to him, sitting behind him with my legs on each side of his as I hugged him around his torso.

"What was it?" I asked kissing his shoulder. He placed his hands on my legs, caressing my skin with the pad of his thumbs. "You left again." He mumbled.

I closed me eyes as I hugged him even tighter, pressing my cheek up against his bare back, reflecting on the pain that I can hear in his voice.

"Hey. Hey Shawn look at me." I said, lightly drawing circles on his back before he turns around, lifting up my legs and throwing it over his. I cupped his face as I saw his eyes glowing red with tears building up.

"I'm not leaving. Ever again." I said, wiping the falling tear from the side of his cheek. "Promise?" He whispered, taking my one hand off his cheek into his. "I promise you. I won't go anywhere... not without you." I smiled and saw the faint smile curving up on his lips.

"I love you darling." He whispered before I pecked his lips. "I'm sorry." He said and I chuckled. "There's nothing to be sorry about. They say you dream the things you fear the most. Now I know what you fear." I said, caressing his cheek.

"Losing you is my biggest fear. I can't go through that again." He said, now smiling more than he did before. I pushed him over onto the bed before turning the light out and laying down ontop of him.

Running my fingers through his hair.

I saw him smiling, almost looking uncontrollably. "What?" I asked just before he wrapped his arms tightly around me and rolled us over so he was laying ontop of me. "I love you." He mumbled onto my chest before looking up at me.

I bit down on my lip. "Jeanine." He groaned, as I did that and laughed. He lifted himself up on his arms and hovered over me.

He looked me in the eyes at first before leaning down onto me and pressing his lips to mine. We've been awake for such a long while now, I think we already need to get up for the event.

It's in the morning now and not the afternoon.

"It's 6 am." He whispered, brushing a piece of hair behind my ear. And I smiled. "Well then, let's get ready." I chuckled and he turned the light on again.
