Shawn:

💕days later💕

Everyday I come back to the hospital after doing a show or interview.

I come to see her everyday, play her some music and even sing for her when night time comes. I always stay the nigt and then Geoff comes to get me in the morning. There's no way I'm leaving her.

"Hey baby." I said as I walked in, kissing her forehead.

She's off the ventilator now and breathing on her own, but she's still not awake. "I had another interview today, and they asked about you. Now the entire world saw me broke down in tears. So you can go watch that on YouTube when you wake up." I chuckled, taking her hand in mine.

I sighed.

"I just wish you'll wake up. I miss you so much and I want to hear your voice again." I said, scooting closer to her on the chair. I took out the ring from my back pockets again. "I went ring shopping with Geoff the other day and I found this gem." I smiled, holing it between my fingers.

"It's not nearly as beautiful as you but it'll look pretty amazing on your finger." I said and sighed. "Jeanine I want to marry you. I want you to wake up so I can ask you this in person." I whispered to her and just then Ryan came in. I quickly put the ring away again and just held on to her hand.

"How are things?" He asked and I just shook my head. "Still no sign of waking up?" He asked and I just looked at her. "It's getting dark. We should probably get some rest." I said but he didn't stay.

"I got a hotel room, you can come if you want. Actually get a good night rest." He said but I shook my head, shaking his hand as I greeted him. I'd rather stay close to her than far from her. Worrying about her and thinking about what possibly could go wrong again.

I grabbed a blanket from the chair after getting dressed in my sweatpants and hoodie that I leave here in her room. I sat down on the chair, intertwining our fingers and pulled the blanket up to my shoulders, falling asleep.

I woke up from a small grip on my hand.

My eyes slowly fluttering open and I looked at her. Her fingers are moving. She's moving. I sat up straight. "S-shawn." She croaked out, barely hearable. 

"Jeanine!" I said excitedly as I saw her eyes opening. "Water." She said weakly and I got a cup from the bedside table next to her bed and let her drink from the cup with a straw.

"You're awake!" I smiled as a tear rolled down my cheek and I sat down next to her again. "W-where am I?" She asked and I turned the light on, letting her see her surroundings. "The hospital? What happened?" She asked and sat up.

"You don't remember anything?" I asked and she shook her head. Her body still weak. "Hunny, you were in a cra-" but she looked weirdly at me.

"Hunny?" She asked and I saw her eyes locking on mine, but she doesn't recognize anything. "You-you don't remember me?" I asked, feeling my heart breaking at the scene.

"Jeanine! No no no no. Please, baby you need to remember me." I cried out, taking her hand in mine and I saw her smiling. "Gotcha. I said your name you doof, that should've been a hint." She smirked, laughing weakly and I sat down beside her, letting my head fall down onto her shoulder.

"Fuck Jeanine, you scared the shit out of me." I cried and she pulled me into a hug, making me fall onto her. "How are you?" I asked and kissed her forehead. "So sore. But for someone who just woke up I feel kinda okay." She said rubbing her eyes and I sat down beside her again.

Resting my chin on my balled fist as I looked at her, rolling on her side to look at me. "This was not really the surprise I wanted to give you." She smiled and I broke down again. I'm crying relieved tears that she's awake and doing okay.

"Hey. I'm okay. You're not getting rid of me that easily." She chuckled, scooting closer to me and putting her hand down on my arm. She wiped away the tear from the side of my face before she pecked my lips.

"They don't feel like your lips." I said and she laughed softly. "With some chapstick and more kisses they'll be themselves by tomorrow." She smiled and I cupped her cheek, caressing her skin as our eyes locked on each other's.

She's awake.

And I'm so happy she's doing okay.
