Chapter 14 TrappEd

Estella walks back into Vanessa's room. "I thought you were getting food" says Vanessa. "Hey" says Ericca walking up to Estella and hugging her, "What's wrong?" "I saw Monroe" Estella responds. A smile breaks out on Vanessa's, Ariella's, and Ericca's face. "That's great" says Ariella, "So why aren't you smiling?" Estella starts crying and says, "There is a slim chance that she will live." Ericca says, "I'm so sorry Estella." Ariella asks, "So it was that bad?" "What exactly happened" asks Vanessa. "What is the last thing you remember" asks Ariella. "I ran out of the forest and saw you three. So, I started to run over to you guys and car came out of nowhere and hit me. Everything went black after that." Ericca says, "Basically after that you went flying in the air and Monroe caught you. A drunk driver was speeding down the road, heading toward Monroe. She got you to safety and started running. She tried to get jump out of the way, but got hit. She went flying into a stop sign pole."

"I would definitely be dead if Monroe didn't save me" says Vanessa. Ariella asks, "How did you find out about Monroe's condition?" Estella replies, "When I went to go get something for Vanessa to eat, I happened to walk past Monroe's room. There was a guy that could pass for her twin talking to her. He called her MC and said there was a slim chance that she would wake up. He believed in her because she has beaten the odds before. She couldn't leave him, especially not until she introduced him to the girl she is always talking about, her star." Ericca, Ariella, and Vanessa look at each other. "What" asks Estella. "Nothing" Ariella says, "So I think E is behind this." Ericca asks, "How is that even possible?" "E had to have help. E had to do this because of what Monroe and Vanessa saw." Estella asks, "What did you and Monroe see?"

Vanessa answers, "We saw Nate and Melody talking about something. Then Nate handed Melody something that looked like an envelope. Melody handed Nate a bag. Nate pulled something out of the bag. I'm not sure exactly what was in the bag because I was behind Nate. I'm sure Monroe saw what it was though." "I'm still wondering why my brother meet with Melody" says Ericca. "And I'm wondering who that guy was" says Ariella. Vanessa asks, "Its late and I'm tired, can we figure this out tomorrow?" Ariella replies, "It is already the next day. Its five in the morning." "You know what I mean."

Vanessa falls asleep. Estella, Ericca, and Ariella claim a chair and fall asleep. Estella, Ariella, and Ericca are awaken up by their parents. Caleb says, "We brought you guys some food and change of clothes." Estella takes her clothes and walks into the bathroom. The parents walk out of the room. Vanessa wakes up. "Food" Vanessa says. Ericca and Ariella laugh. Ariella hands Vanessa some hospital food. Ericca and Ariella grab their food. Ericca asks, "Do you two think Monroe's twin was referring to Estella?" "Why would he be referring to Estella, sure she likes Estella, but Estella's straight" says Vanessa. Ariella says, "There's a high possibility that that's the case." Vanessa looks confused and asks, "Really?" "Estella does translate to star. Estella comes from the French word Stella" says Ariella.

Estella walks out of the bathroom. "What are we talking about" asks Estella. "Nothing" says Ariella. Erica asks, "What's the plan?" Ariella says, "While we wait for another clue, Ericca will go figure out what was in the bag that Melody gave to Nate." "What" exclaims Ericca, "Why me?" Ariella says matter of fact, "One, we can't exactly ask Monroe, she is kinda unconscious at the moment. Two, Nate is your brother." "Ugh, fine" says Ericca, "But you're coming with me." "Fine" says Ariella. They both change into the clean clothes. "Keep us updated" says Ariella. "Same for" says Estella. Ericca and Ariella leave and head to Ericca's house.

"I'm gonna go check on Monroe" says Estella. Vanessa is about to protest when Aria and Ezra walk in. "I'll leave now. I'll be back soon Vanessa" Estella says. She walks out of the room. Aria pulls up and chair and sits next to Vanessa. Ezra stands next to Aria. Aria asks, "How are you feeling?" Vanessa replies, "A little better than yesterday. When can I leave?" Ezra says, "As long as you continue to heal, in about a week." "I want to leave now" Vanessa whines. "Soon" Aria says. "How is Monroe" asks Vanessa. Aria says, "She is still fighting. She was banged up really bad." Vanessa nods and then says, "I'm tired." "Ok" Ezra says, "Get some sleep."

Estella walks out of Vanessa's room and walks to Monroe's. She enters her room and sees she is the same as she was earlier. Estella pulls up a chair and sits by Monroe. She takes her hand and ends up falling asleep. She is woken up when someone calls her name. She blinks her eyes and asks, "How long was I asleep?" She looks and sees that Monroe is awake. Tears escape her eyes and she whispers, "Monty." Monroe coughs and says in a raspy voice, "B-be c-caref-ful." Estella gets Monroe some water and asks, "Be careful of what?" Monroe whispers, "Not what, who. Melody and Nate..." Monroe is trying to stay awake. "Melody and Nate what" asks Estella. Monroe whispers, "E...." Her eyes close and she falls back asleep. It takes a second for Estella to process what Monroe says. Her eyes go wide and she whispers, "Ericca and Ariella."

Ericca and Ariella exit Vanessa's room. They get in Ericca's car and head to Ericca's house. They arrive and get out of the car. They enter Ericca's house and walk to Nate's room. Ericca barley opens the door and looks around. "Cost is clear" says Ericca. They walk in and start looking around. They have been searching Nate's room for the past hour when Ericca phone rings. "It's Estella" Ericca says. Ericca answers while Ariella continues to search. Erica says, "No we haven't found anything....wait what, slow down.......Monroe woke up? That's great-.....Nate and Melody.....What?! Oh my-....yes we are leaving." Ericca hangs up and Ariella looks at her. Ariella asks, "What was that about?" Ericca says, "Monroe woke up and warned Estella. She mentioned something about Melody, Nate, and E."

"Are you saying either Nate or Melody is or could be E" asks Ariella. "Possibly" says Ericca, "Either way we need to leave, now." They go to leave Nate's room when they hear the front door open. "Ericca, you there" Nate shouts. "Shit" Ericca whispers. "Hide" says Ariella. Ericca and Ariella scramble into the closet and close the door just as Nate walks in.
