Chapter 28 Fun Times In The Shower

Monroe and Kayla meet up at the movie theater a few hours after school ends. They decide on what movie to watch and Monroe buys the tickets. Monroe also buys a large popcorn and a soda for them to split. They pick some seats in the back of the theater. Monroe puts the soda in the cupholder on her seat and Kayla has the popcorn in her lap. They proceed to make small talk before the movie starts. "So, it's basically like you moved out and live on your own" Kayla says. "That pretty much sums it up" Monroe says, "My parents are rarely home and when they are it's a little weird because it's usually just me and my best friend. But when they are home, my mom makes me the center of her attention which is nice." Kayla asks, "Do I get to meet her?"

Monroe looks at Kayla and is about to answer when the movie starts. Monroe looks at the screen, while Kayla stares at her for a few seconds before looking at the screen. Monroe then looks over at Kayla and grabs her hand. Kayla looks over at Monroe. They interlock their fingers and smile at each other. Then they turn their attention back to the movie. About half way through the movie, Monroe and Kayla are in the middle of a make-out session. Monroe has her left hand on Kayla's right cheek. Kayla has her right hand on Monroe's cheek. Kayla repositions herself, which in the process spills the popcorn. Kayla puts her other on hand on Monroe's other cheek. Monroe puts her other hand on Kayla's leg. Monroe pulls Kayla onto her lap. Kayla repositions herself, so now she is straddling Monroe.

Once the movie ends, Monroe pulls away. They smile at each other. Monroe stands up and offers a hand to Kayla. Kayla grabs Monroe's hand and Monroe pulls her up. "You owe me like six bucks for that popcorn you spilt" Monroe says, "But I also except lap dances and strip teases." Kayla playfully slaps Monroe's shoulder. Monroe chuckles and says, "Kidding, I'm kidding." They interlace their fingers and walk out to Monroe's car. There is a comfortable silence on the drive to Kayla's house. Fifteen minutes later, they arrive at Kayla's. Monroe parks and turns off the car. They look at each other. "I had fun" Monroe says. "Me too" Kayla says, "I'll see you at school tomorrow." "Bye" Monroe says. Kayla gives Monroe a quick peck and gets out of the car. She waves and enters her house.

The Next Day

Vanessa's House

Vanessa wakes up to her alarm clock blarring. Vanessa groans and tries to turn it off, but she can't. She looks down at her waist and sees a pair of arms. Vanessa smiles and whispers, "Laura." She gets no reaction. Vanessa says, "Laura." She still gets no reaction. Vanessa then proceeds to elbow Laura as best as she can in the gut. Vanessa hears Laura grunt. "What the hell" she hears a half-asleep Laura mumbles. "I need to turn off my alarm clock before people start barging into my room" Vanessa says. Laura groans and says, "Ugh, fine, only because it's annoying." Laura releases Vanessa and she shuts off her alarm.

Vanessa turns around so that she is facing Laura. "Good morning" Vanessa says smiling. Laura smiles back and says, "Good morning beautiful." Vanessa's cheeks become red and she hides her head in the crook of Laura's neck. Laura softly chuckles and pushes some of Vanessa's hair behind her ear. Laura says, "But its true." "Stoooop" Vanessa whines, "You're making me blush." Laura uses her hand to gently grab Vanessa's chin and lift it out of the crook of her neck so that she can look into Vanessa's eyes. "Now why would I do that" Laura asks, "You're so cute when you blush." Vanessa leans in and gives Laura a quick peck on the lips. "We should start to get ready before we are late" Vanessa says. "Nooo" Laura whines, "Five more minutes."

Vanessa says, "Fine crybaby." Laura wraps her arms around Vanessa's waist and pulls Vanessa into her. Vanessa wraps her arms around Laura and snuggles into her. They hear a knock on the door. "Vanessa" they hear Aria say, "Are you up yet?" "Hide" Vanessa whispers. Laura jumps out of the bed and climbs out the window. Vanessa closes the window and says, "Yes mom." Aria opens the door. "Your dad had to go down to the office for an emergency. I'm going to take Zeke and Beth to school then head to the office. I'm trusting you to get to school on time" Aria says. "Ok" Vanessa says. "For someone who loves clothes, you don't take very good care of them" Aria says. She walks in and picks up some. She walks over to Vanessa's closet and sets them on the shelf.
