Puppy Hades - Erik Lehnsherr

Erik looked down at the little sleek puppy on the bed, his eyebrows furrowed, head tilted slightly in confusion.

"(Y/N)," Erik called to you, you came out of the bathroom and raised your eyebrows at him. "Is that... A dog?"

"No, it's a fucking horse. Of course it's a dog, dumbass," you teased, sitting on the bed beside the puppy and gently taking it in your arms. "His name's Shadow."

"Shadow?" Erik repeated, watching as you held the little puppy; it's nose was long, jaw clearly lined with growing daggers for teeth, dark, almost black, hickory eyes, pricked up ears, sleek obsidian fur, docked tail, and a few tufts of light brown fur here and there.

"Yeah," you shrugged, running your fingers through the puppy's silky, soft fur. "Unless if you can think of a better name?"

"What about Hades?" Erik suggested, sitting beside you and smiling to himself; the moment made him feel as if he had not done all the things he did, the body count that piled high, the trauma he lived through. With a careful hand, he reached out and softly pat the puppy on the head with an ever growing smile.

"Hades," you mused, letting out a chuckle when the puppy in question reared its head and tilted it so that its little pricked ears were pointing sideways. "You like that huh?" The puppy yapped in response, which made you and Erik laugh softly. "Hades it is."

"Where did you get him?" Erik asked quietly, petting Hades when he crawled onto his lap.

"Charles knows a guy who's Dobermans had pups," you explained, contently watching Erik and Hades interact. "Our little one was the runt."

"Thank you," Erik whispered, reaching for your hand.

"Hey," you squeezed his hand gently. "You're welcome. I knew you'd like him."
