You were lounging about, not doing much, when you saw Cassidy sit beside you.

"Hey," you smiled at him, nudging him a little but furrowing your brows and suddenly frowning when you realised he wasn't looking at you. "Something wrong, Cass?"

"I have a black eye and I need some ice," he grumbled, clearly waiting for such a thing to heal.

"I got some in the freezer," you reassured, standing up. "Have you drank any... Y'know... Yet?"

"No, love," he admitted, you sighed.

"Why not?" You asked, concern drowning your words.

"Don't worry about it," the vampire said, following you into the kitchen; he couldn't help but to admire your form when you bent down to grab some ice out of the bottom of the freezer. You passed him the small bag and he pressed it to his eye. "Cheers, love."

"You really know how to throw a punch," you mused, looking at his bloodied knuckles. "Teach me?"

"No. Just no!" Cassidy replied sternly. "I ain't teachin' you how to fight, love."

"Why?" You asked. "I'm a grown woman, Cass, I have-"

"Because you could get hurt," he growled. "I ain't gonna let that happen. If I teach ya how to fight, you'll get into 'em and end up hurt like everyone else."

"Cass-"

"Love," Cassidy sighed deeply. "You don't need to learn to throw a punch. I'm here, I'll fight for ya."

"But," you knew there was no point in arguing. "Whatever."

"Trust me," he said softly, throwing the bag of ice aside. "I ain't gonna let ya get hurt, ever. Alright?"

"Alright. I'll go grab you some blood in a bit."

"Thanks, love."
