You and Archie may have accidentally started a rumour that the two of you were together, although it wasn't really a rumour, seeming as how you were; however, you both wanted to keep things quiet, and having editors, newspaper writers, and others of the sort, chase after you both with notepads and pens, made privacy very difficult suddenly.

"We started a rumour," you said softly, hiding a newspaper behind your back.

"We what?" Archie asked, turning his chair a little to look at you, his brows furrowed. He instantly knew you were hiding something. "What're you hiding, darling?"

"I suppose it's not really a rumour," you admitted, showing him the newspaper and sitting on his lap as his eyes scanned it. "After all, we ARE betrothed, aren't we?"

"We are," he nodded, pursing his lips a little. "Perhaps we should tell those journalists the truth."

"But, Archie, then the country will know," you told him. "It will be a scandal, won't it? Oh, I can just see the headlines now, Archie Hicox taken? I don't think I can handle that."

"Maybe not this instant," he reassured softly. "But, darling, don't be scared it's normal. Of course you're going to be a little nervous about bringing the entire country into our bed-"

"No," you insisted. "We tell them nothing except about our engagement. By Churchill... Archie, are you sure?"

"I'm sure," he pressed a quick kiss to your cheek. "Don't worry, darling, it's all going to be alright."
