Sitting at a table in a pub, you waited for the man your friend had said you were to meet; people were at the bar, one man in particular caught your eye. He was rather tall, and had to duck beneath the lights, his large hand was wrapped around a pint of Guinness, the dark liquid a stark contrast to the pale froth that had settled atop it, small droplets running down the condensation on the glass; you pondered over who he was, what he was doing stood at the bar, how he had managed to get into the pub in the first place. Suddenly, the man grinned and greeted a woman; she was much shorter, dark curly hair sitting just beneath her shoulders like a beautiful crown, her skin seeming to glow slightly beneath the lights, she was a beauty, and she hugged the man as if they had known one another for years.

"(Y/N)?" Charles' voice rang as he sat opposite you; you swallowed thickly as your attention was brought to him, his cobalt eyes watching you closely, almost protectively, almost... Lovingly.

"Charlie," you breathed out, blinking away the possibility that he was here to see you. "What are you doing here?"

"Raven told me to meet someone," he chuckled, waving his hand to dismiss the fact that he was on a date; you tried your best not to show your aching heart. "In fact... I think I'm here to meet you."

"Do you?" You questioned curiously, tilting your head and telling yourself that Charles Xavier, the man you had fallen for, could not possibly be there for you.

"Yes," he smiled, and suddenly the world was filled with good once more. "I do."

As fate would have it, you were there to meet Charles, and the two of you talked over many drinks as time flew by; but there was one thing neither of you had admitted to, yet.

"Y'know," Charles grinned. "I've been interested in you for a long time, (Y/N)."

"You have?" You asked, grinning back.

"Yes," he laughed, although the word was draped in honesty. "Even before I found out you could control fire."

"Well," you chuckled. "I've had an interest in you for a while too, Charlie."

"Do you think... We can do this again?" Charles asked, looking you in he eye and telling himself that he shouldn't get his hopes up.

"Yeah, I'd like that."
