Charles twiddled his thumbs nervously as he sat beside the hospital bed; you had been put into a medically induced coma after suffering severe trauma to your stomach, chest, and neck.
"Darling," he sighed, reaching a hand out to your cold, lifeless one. "I need you to wake up because I can't do this without you."
"Mister Xavier?" One of the nurses peered in with a sad look in his eyes that set Charles on edge.
"Yes?" He turned to the nurse and braced himself for the news.
"I'm afraid the doctor said (Y/N) won't make it... There's nothing we can do," the nurse sighed, clearly melancholic in his own right. "I'm so sorry, we did everything we could."
