You were on Charles' bed, eating a sandwich, while he slept peacefully beside you, his head in your lap, and a peacefulness to his features that only came with sleep.

"You're getting crumbs all over my bed," he yawned with a groggy chuckle. "Can I please have a bite?"

"Of course, honey," you chuckled, lowering your hand and allowing him to bite into the sandwich. "You're thinking about people betraying you again, aren't you?"

"I am," Charles admitted once he had eaten his bit of the sandwich, he knew there was no point in lying to you, not when you could read him so easily without being a mutant.

"Charles, not everyone is out to get you. Stop thinking that. It's annoying," you playfully scolded, trying to put some light into his darkness. "On a different note, our good friend Erik, does he know about the baby?"

"Not yet, darling. I'd rather just keep our baby between us," he chuckled softly, moving so that he could kiss your stomach sweetly. "For now, at least."

"I can't wait for the day they come," you admitted, stroking his hair softly. "I hope they have your eyes."

"My eyes?"

"Yes, your eyes. Charles, my love, your eyes are beautiful."
