"Hey, Charles," you greeted, sitting yourself on his lap like you always did. "You know, the ladies love a guy who's good with kids."

"I don't care about other women," he said softly, resting his hand on your thigh. "I only care about you."

"In that case," you grinned, kissing his cheek quickly. "I love you."

"You do?" He looked up at you, slightly startled.

"I do," you nodded, kissing his cheek again. "I love you, Charles, regardless of if you're good with kids."

"I love you too, (Y/N)." Charles grinned breathlessly and gently captured your lips with his own.
