I woke up to the sound of the mattress squeaking next to me, sometime later.
The room was completely submerged in darkness, the only thing that could be seen were the red-orange embers lit in the hearth.
"What are you doing here?" I whispered, knowing who it was as soon as the bed squeaked.
"I came to see if you were alright, you left rather hurriedly after you finished your food." Tom said, as he turned with his wand raised, lighting the fire in the hearth once more.
"I am feeling alright just ov-overwhelmed." I sighed, moving my head to look up at the canopy.
He nodded, laying down next to me on the bed, turning onto his side so he could look at me. Staring at me for a long while before either of us decided to speak again.
"How'd the meeting with everyone go?" I asked uninterested, keeping my eyes on the canopy placed above the bed.
"Merlin, the atmosphere was so tense that you could cut through it with a knife." He said, rolling his eyes before a smirk began to pull at the corners of his lips, "You'll be glad to hear that almost everyone showed up after dinner, including your aunt and uncle. Your Gryffindor friends did too, the last one that showed up is Severus. We're still waiting on The Lestrange twins, and Sirius and Regulus Black." He said.
"Yes well, their parents died not one week ago, I am sure there is a reason as to why they've chosen to delay their arrival here." I commented dryly.
"Yes, well, it is getting late. We should get some rest, since tomorrow we start retraining everyone." He told me after he changed into a pair of sweatpants.
"We should." I agreed, turning on my side as I pulled the blanket over my shoulders.
I closed my eyes for a few second before a detail about something that happened. I almost felt Tom's amusement as I fully turned my body over to look at him in the eye.
"Aren't you supposed to be in your own room?" I asked, beginning to feel the drowsiness of sleep cloud my mind.
"Yes, but I want to make sure you're alright. I can't do that from down the hall. I need to know that if you wake up screaming you won't be alone, that you'll at the very least feel safe." He whispered.
I smiled at him in appreciation, before turning back to my original position and closing me eyes. before I drifted off into a dreamless sleep.
***
I woke up the next morning pinned to the mattress. Tom's left arm and leg were resting on top of me, pinning my arms to my sides, while his torso pinned the rest of my body to the bed.I gasped for air as I struggled to get his limbs off my own.
When no amount of pushing, or thrusting worked, I finally grew tired and thought of a spell.
"Levicorpus." I thought gasping, flicking my wrist.
I sighed in relief as I watch him get suspended into the air by his left ankle a few feet above the ground in the air. He groaned trying to get free of the hex.
"Good morning." I said amused, sitting in the middle of the bed.
"Need I ask for the reason why you hexed me this early in the morning?" He asked, groggily.
"You were suffocating me." I replied, dryly, before shrugging, "Liberacorpus." I said, flicking my wrist one more.
"W-wait!" He called, a second too late.
I watched as he was released from the hex, falling to the ground in a loud thump.
"Good way to start the morning wouldn't you say?" I asked, teasingly.
"Can it, you twat." He retorted, as he sat up on the ground, rubbing the back of his head.
The scowl on his face telling me he wasn't amused one bit.
I quickly tried to smother the giggles that began to bubble, as I climbed off the bed.
Slowly making my way towards the closet that now had my things stored inside.
I walked through it, looking through my clothing before I stopped in front of a certain set of clothes.
I slowly pulled a floor length, gray, cotton skirt and a black, long sleeved, shoulder-less, semi loose blouse. Grabbing my black garter, and stockings while gathering my other undergarments.
Once I had my clothes, I quickly exited the closet and made my way towards the bathroom.
I showered quickly, and dress quickly after that, slipping on the ankle boots I had worn the day prior.
"Are you ready for breakfast?" Tom asked, after he had showered and dress in his own room.
He walked in to my room, and watched as I finished pulling my hair into a simple French braid, and clipped a black, ribbon choker onto my neck.
I nodded, grabbing my wand and sleeveless cloak, before exiting the room, following quietly behind him as we made our way towards the dining room.
As I walked into the room I realized that almost everyone was here now. Including Bella's cousins.
Breakfast passed rather quickly, much too quick for my liking.
We were all now gathered in the same room, the table and chairs being moved, and the room expanding so that we'd fit more accordingly without blowing any of the other members to the wall.
"Partner up. Might I suggest it is someone that you aren't friends with or hardly know." I said, looking over as I began to walk towards Severus.
However, before I could even take a step in his direction, Tom yanked me back by the hood of my cloak. Effectively stopping me.
I turned to look at him, frowning. "What do you think you're—" I began before he gave me a look.
"Do not even think about it. You're supposed to teach them, not kill them. If you start practice dueling with Severus, or anyone else for that matter, and they manage to piss you off, I know you'll end up hurting them, stay here." Tom told me.
"Oh, alright. Fine." I grumbled, crossing my arms over my chest like a petulant child.
"Most of you, or all of you should know how to duel... since we're all in the same year." I continued.
"Practice only defensive and offensive spells. No Unforgivables. Use only simple hexes." I instructed.
I noticed everyone was now paired off.
It was rather gut wrenching watching Lily Evans and even little Alice Blake take on their opponents, like Rodolphus Lestrange and Regulus Black.
Tom and I turned to one another, bowing before we raised our wands.
"Expelliarmus!" He yelled.
I quickly put up a shield, watching as I bounced off and ended up hitting an unexpected Bastan making his wand fly out of his hand.
"Locomotor Wibbly." I thought, flicking my wand and watching as barely dodged it.
"Oh, its on now." He said, smirking.
"No holding back." I replied, smirking back, as we began firing spells at one another, wordlessly.
