Logan woke up sobbing. She brushed aside her tears and got ready for school like she did every morning, but today was different. Today she had a heavy weight on her chest. It must've been her nightmare. At least that's what she told herself it was- a nightmare, not a vision of the future.
She braided her hair down the side and pulled on her school robes. By the time she was finished getting ready, the twins had already disappeared, so she walked with only Enna down to breakfast.
The Great Hall was abuzz with chatter of the upcoming Halloween festivities. Enna headed straight to the Hufflepuff table, but Logan stopped by the Gryffindor table to greet Lily and Maya.
"Hey girls." She said, coming up behind them.
"Hello Logan." Lily replied.
"Morning." Maya smiled.
"So what's all this talk about Halloween?" Logan asked.
"Well, every year we have a Halloween festival." Lily explained, "This year we're having a costume ball."
"Cool beans!"
"Oh my gosh, what are you going to be?!" Maya asked her.
"I dunno yet, I'll ask Enna if she had any ideas. Bye!"
And Logan stood up and walked back to her table. She sat down next to Enna who to Logan's surprise was eating a pancake.
"Hey Enna."
"Hi."
"Do you have any plans for Halloween yet?"
"Yep! Lie down in bed and pretend the whole thing isn't happening."
"Come on, Enna, that's no fun."
"I don't like Halloween!" Enna protested.
"Don't like Halloween?!" A voice asked.
The girls looked up to see Sirius. He smiled wickedly at them.
"Don't worry I'll take care of that."
And before either of them could protest he hurried back to his table.
"Great," Enna said, "Now Sirius Black is involved."
"Well maybe he really will help, and not make things worse..."
"How can Sirius have anything to do with me not liking Halloween?"
"I dunno, Enna, just... try to have fun that night, Okay?"
