Logan laughed at James' remark.
"Sure." Peter said.
The Marauders walked into the Three Broomsticks and James picked out a booth facing where Lily and Maya sat.
"Lovesick." Remus mumbled to Logan and she nodded.
"Oh shush, I heard that!" James grumbled.
"Sorry." Remus said, smirking, but James missed the action behind the remark seeing how he was now staring at Lily.
"Hi, can I get you anything?" The waitress asked.
"Oh, yes please, I'll have a butterbeer, Logan?" Sirius asked.
"Butterbeer."
"Peter?"
"Butterbeer."
"Remus?"
"Butterbeer."
"James?"
James didn't respond.
"Jaaaames?" Sirius asked, waving a hand in front of the boys face.
James blinked, but didn't react otherwise.
"James!" Peter said, tapping him on the shoulder.
"Hmm?"
"Butterbeer?"
There was a silence.
"JAMES!!!" Peter yelled in his ear, causing James to jump and nearly punch Peter in the face.
"Bro, do you want a butterbeer or not?" Sirius asked.
"Oh, um, yes, yes please." James said.
The waitress nodded and walked away.
"Gee, James, wha-" Remus' voice broke off as the magnet kicked his hand again, "Ow!"
Sirius, Logan and Peter laughed at him. James went back to watching Lily.
"James, she's gonna be creeped out if she catches you staring." Sirius warmed with a grin.
James attempted to kick Sirius' leg, but missed and hit the table.
"Ow!" James complained.
"What?" Sirius said, "It's not my fault you decided to kick a metal table!"
"Metal..." Remus said before his eyes widened, "Oh my gosh, why didn't I think of this sooner?"
"Think of what?" Peter asked.
Remus carefully took the magnet and stuck it on the table. The cat magnet squirmed and kicked its legs a little, but eventually gave up and the legs disappeared.
"Brilliant." Logan mused as Peter reached out and poked the magnet.
Nothing happened.
"Wow." James said, his attention off Lily and on the magnet, "That's great Mooney!"
