Logan found Sirius sulking around a hallway, hexing every Slytherin that happened to walk down it.
"Hexing first years now, are we?" Logan asked, hands on hips.
Sirius didn't look up.
"They were third years and they deserved it." He said.
"James told me-"
"I don't want to hear you talk about him." Sirius interrupted.
"He was just telling me-"
"Don't."
"Sirius!" Logan snapped, "You're being ridiculous! James is your best friend!"
"Not anymore." Sirius said.
"So what now? You're just going to sulk around without him for the rest of your life?!" She demanded.
"Guess I'm a loner now."
Logan groaned.
"You're welcome to join me." Sirius offered.
"This is childish."
"So you're taking his side then?"
"This- ugh! I didn't even come here to talk about him! I came here because James told me you talked to your brother!"
Sirius flinched.
"More like he cornered me in the hallway."
"So? How'd it go?"
"...he's one of them, Birdie." Sirius said, "He's a bloody Death Eater."
"No!" Logan gasped.
"Showed me his mark and everything." Sirius said.
"Why would he...?"
"Kept asking for my help." He continued, "Something about a necklace... I told him he's on his own now. I can't protect him anymore. He didn't even do anything when my parents disowned me... I'm done with him."
"Oh, Sirius." Logan sighed.
She pulled him into a hug and he reluctantly let her. After a moment, he hugged her back.
"Sirius, you need to look around you and see all the people that care about you." Logan said, "Stop looking at all the ones who hate you and look at the ones who love you. Unconditionally. Even when you're being an idiot."
"Well, I don't know about being an idiot."
"Padfoot?"
"Yeah?"
"Go apologize to James, please."
"I- I can't."
"Why not?"
"It's complicated, why can't he apologize to me for spending so much time away from us and with Lily?"
"One of you better apologize to the other and soon!" Logan threatened.
