Logan searched through the shop with the Marauders for their new pranking idems.
"Lo, what'd you think about these?" Sirius asked, pointing out love potions.
She laughed and shook her head at him.
"You know that those don't work, Padfoot." Logan said.
"Don't tell James that." Sirius said, pointing at the boy who was staring intensely at the display.
Logan sighed and walked over to James.
"Come on, you don't need that stuff to win Lily over." She said, pulling him away.
James snapped out of his trace and nodded, looking embarrassed.
"Do you... do think she'll ever fall for me?" He whispered to her after making sure Sirius wasn't paying attention.
"Honestly, Lily would kill me for telling you this, but I think you'll eventually wear her down."
"Logan." James whined, "I'm being... serious. And please don't make a joke."
"James, I think you are an amazing boy with so much potential, and Lily's bound to realize that eventually." Logan said sincerely, "But don't tell her I told you that!"
"Okay!" James said, smile back on his face.
Logan smiled and watched him walk over to the joke book section.
"Only kind of books he likes." Remus joked, watching James fawn over the joke books.
"Yep!" Logan said, wandering over to the magical magnet section.
"I think this one applies to you." Remus said, pointing out a magnet that said "Beware The Crazed Witch".
Logan rolled her eyes and picked up a magnet saying "Sit down And Shut up". She giggled at his mock offense.
"You hurt me, truly you do!" he said.
She shrugged with a grin and pointed to a magnet that had a deer crossing sign on it.
"Think we should get that for Prongs?" She asked.
"He'd love it."
She laughed and kept looking over the magnets.
"How're these magical anyways?" She asked.
"Like this." Remus said, picking one featuring a cat up and throwing it at the ground.
Right before she was about to scold him for his out of character behavior and bend down to pick the magnet up, it sprouted two legs and began to run away.
"Oh no! I'll get it!" Remus said, chasing after the runaway magnet.
"Remus, it's going over there- wait, no!" She cried as Remus spun around and lunged towards the table the magnet had run under.
The table just happened to be holding up a rather expensive looking fake crystal ball. When Remus bumped into the table, the ball rolled off and shattered into a million pieced on the floor.
"Oh..." Remus said sheepishly.
A store employee rushed over to see what had happened. He looked very distraught at the mess and then just confused when he looked up to see Remus.
"We are so sorry, we didn't-" Logan began.
"You two did this?" The man asked.
"It was just me!" Remus said.
"Mooney, what're you doing?!!" Logan whispered.
"I'll be willing to pay for it, sir." Remus said, ignoring her protests.
The shop keeper reached down and picked up the cat magnet before looking back at the two teens.
"You and your friends are our most loyal customers, I'm not going to kick you out, or make you pay for this." He said, gesturing to the mess, "But do me a favor and take this little guy off our hands?"
Remus looked at the magnet, confused.
"This little guy's been causing all kinds of mayhem all over the shop." The man explained, "If you could take him, we'd all be very grateful!"
"Take the magnet?" Remus questioned.
The man nodded.
"Er, sure...?"
"Thank you!" The man gushed, handing the magnet over to Remus before turning back to the broken glass, "I'll sweep this up."
"O-okay?"
Logan and Remus walked outside of the store, Remus looking like he still in shock. When the boys met them outside, Logan and Remus told them what had happened.
"No way!" James said.
"Blimey, if it were me I would've gotten banned and had to pay for it, not be given free stuff and let off the hook!" Sirius said.
"I'm not so sure that this is a good thing- ow!" Remus exclaimed.
"What?" Peter asked, curiously.
"The darn thing kicked me!"
"Remus, look how little it's legs are, how could that have possibly hurt?" Logan asked.
"I dunno, but it did!"
"Wimp." Sirius whispered to James, but Remus overheard.
"If you think you're so smart, you hold it!" Remus said, holding his cupped hands out towards the black haired boy.
"I'll pass." Sirius said.
"Ugh, Logan, will you hold it?" Remus asked.
"...fine." she sighed, cupping her hands to accept the magnet.
When Remus opened his hands to give her the cat magnet, it jumped away and started running down the street.
"What, no!" He protested, chasing after it.
Logan, James, Sirius and Peter joined him on the chase for the magnet.
"Crazed magnet chase coming through!" Sirius called as they ran through a group of grumbling seventh years.
"Peter, catch it!" James called to the small boy who had somehow pushed his way through the crowd the quickest.
Peter bent down to scoop the magnet up, but missed horribly.
"Wormy!" Sirius whined as the magnet took off.
"It's okay, I got it!" Logan said, successfully catching the magnet.
She had made it through the crowd second and was faster than Peter.
"Yay!" Sirius cheered.
"Ow!" Logan shrieked, nearly dropping the magnet again, "It-it- I think it kicked me!"
"See?!" Remus asked.
"I'm sorry I ever doubted you." Logan apologized, "Now here, take it back!"
"No!" Remus exclaimed, running away from her.
"Remus John Lupin, you come back here this instant!"
He grumbled as he walked back over to her and held out his hands. Logan carefully placed the magnet into his palms and he closed his hands around it before it could run away again.
"Say, does anyone fancy a butterbeer?" James asked, staring at the Three Broomsticks where Lily and Maya had just walked in.
