It's Never Too Late

READER'S POV

I walked through the wintery streets as the snowflakes fell from the sky. As I walked through the wintery streets I looked at some of the couples and some of the families playing in the snow and they didn't even look at me.

'Funny, I feel like I'm back to square one, walking through the snow like this takes me back.'

I thought to myself as I remembered walking through the streets by myself after the fire. Just then I spotted a familiar spot that I knew all too well. It was the ally where Boss found me after the fire.

'I am back to square one, this is where Boss and Sota found me.'

I smiled a little when I remembered this. I sat down on top of the bin as I curled up into a ball. I sat there for a few moments until a familiar voice spoke up.

"So it's back to this huh?"

I looked up and it was Boss. I felt tears in the corner of my eyes.

"Boss...."

I jumped off the bin's lid and I flung my arms around Boss and I buried my face in his chest as I cried. Boss looked at me surprised and he then asked me.

"What's wrong? did something happen?"

"Boss...please...take me back to the Killer Cobras."

"All right, all right, come on."

Boss said to me as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders and we headed to the hideout. Once we got there, I sat by the fire and I remembered the day I joined the Killer Cobras. Shang, Jimmy, Sota and some of the other gang members were out on jobs right now so it was only me, Boss and some of the remaining gang members were here in the hideout.

"Sitting by the fire like this takes me back."

"I know, it feels weird having you back here, it's like you never left at all, here, get this down ya, this will warm you up a lot quicker."

Boss said as he came over to me and he gave me a mug of hot chocolate. I took a sip of it and I smiled a little.

"It's still good as always."

Boss sat next to me and he then said to me.

"So, are you gonna tell why you were back in that situation?"

I sighed and I began to explain what happened to Boss and what I've learnt a few months ago including the Arata incident. Boss looked surprised when I told him this and he then said to me.

"I see, so that's why you left."

"Yeah, I don't know what else to do, my demon blood...it's changing me."

Boss then rubbed my shoulder and he then said to me.

"I don't know what is really going on with you but, not everybody can change their ways especially after what happened that night."

"That might be true but, I don't know what's happening to me, my demon side is controlling me and it's forcing me to hurt those who I love and care for the most."

"Then don't fight it, understand it and learn it, find out why this is happening to you before it's too late."

I sighed annoyingly and I looked back at him before I spoke up.

"But what if it is too late? what will I do then? I'm too damaged to be saved and I can't change my ways, I'm nothing more than a monster who will continue to kill until her time's up."

I said as I lowered my head sadly. Boss then patted my head and he then said to me.

"It's never too late, (Y/n)."
