today is sad

for anyone who hasn't heard, luke rockets got kicked out of with confidence bc he was to the best of my understanding sexually harassing underage fans, asking them for inappropriate pictures, etc.

and since then plenty of other band members have been exposed for similar things which is absolutely heart breaking

it is disgusting and i am glad that they are being called out for it, because that is far better than them being allowed to continue doing it and getting away with it, but i'm so sad and disappointed that this has been going on at all

music is supposed to be a safe place for me and for everyone else, and it's like that's been shattered and now all these people i used to idolize and love and look up to are being revealed to be some kinda shitty people

and i'm worried because as much as i trust my faves with all my heart, i trusted luke in the same way, and i never would have expected it of the others either, so i just don't know what to think

i'm not saying i think any of them would do these things, but what would happen if suddenly someone who is on my background who i carry with me every day was revealed to have done this stuff? what about the people whose signatures i hang on my wall and look to when i need support?

and i know that all those people who have been called out for this type of behavior were that to some people. to many people. but instead of using the power that those people gave them for good things, the members have used it to abuse and to harass, and it's disgusting. and i can't imagine how many people's days, weeks, lives even, have been completely devastated by the news of all these cases

and i'm so sorry to anyone who is going through that right now. the betrayal is unimaginable to me

i don't have any others, these are the first two incidents i heard about and the only two bands i am familiar with, but there have also been other reports of it. i don't know if anyone else has posted something similar but i'm sure the posts can be found pretty easily if they have
