Song: "The Heart Wants What It Wants" by Selena Gomez

❄️❄️❄️

|| THIRD PERSON ||

The bed's getting cold and you're not here

Betty Cooper never understood why Jughead Jones wanted to be a Southside Serpent.

"Juggie?"Betty called out, her voice slightly raspy with fatigue as she had just woken up. Her eyes shot open, adjusting to tthe sunlight peeking into the room. Her hand reached for her phone on the bedside table, reading the time through narrowed eyes. It was just seven fifteen, and as much as Betty wanted to stay and wait for Jughead, she couldn't. She had to get to school.

Betty told her mother that she would spend the night in Veronica's place, but in reality, she had been sneaking off to the infamous Jughead Jones' trailer in Sunnyside Trailer Park.

She sighed, getting up from bed, putting Jughead's shirt—which was on the floor—over her bare body before putting her
panties on and headed straight to the kitchen to look for food. She reached for a box of Fruit Loops, pouring some into a bowl before pouring some milk into it.

He left no note for Betty, not even a text. Betty sighed and finished her breakfast, rushing to the bathroom for a quick shower before changing into a fresh set of clothes, the usual Betty Cooper outfit. Maybe, things really are gonna change between her and Jughead.

Maybe Betty was wrong.

Maybe Riverdale's civil war will get the better of them, and when it does, it will be out of her hands.

The future that we hold is so unclear

Betty Cooper waited for Jughead Jones to come back home.

She sat on the couch of his trailer, fiddling with the keys to his trailer, which he had given her a month after they started dating. It was silent as she sat alone in the dark, staring at a newly added picture frame to the trailer wall, in the middle of the many that contained pictures of Jughead and his family.

In the picture frame was a picture of him and her, Betty and Jughead, back when they were at homecoming. Jughed had been hesitant to take the picture, not liking how he looked in photographs, but Betty always thought otherwise. She's always adored the light freckles on her boyfriend's cheeks, and the way his tortoise green eyes sparkled under the right amount of sunlight. She always liked running her fingers through his raven hair, and how messy it was whenever he doesn't have his beanie on to keep them under control.

To her, he was perfect just as much as she was perfect to him.

A couple weeks ago...

"Come on, Juggie!"Betty giggled, her hands locked with her boyfriend's as the two made their way through the thick crowd and to the photobooth. Jughead couldn't resist his girlfriend's smile, and as much as he wanted to pull away from her and ran back out to the corner where he belonged, there was something about her that made him want to hold on.

Plus, she was already dragging him behind her, and she won't let him let go.

"Trust me, Betts, this is a bad idea!"Jughead insisted, resisting the instinctive urge to smile. Ever since he and Betty started dating, he couldn't stop smiling, especially when she was around or when he was talking or thinking about her. The slightest though about her or the faintest mention of her name was enough to make butterflies flutter in his stomach.
