Song: "24/7" by The Neighborhood
❄️❄️❄️
|| THIRD PERSON ||
"Come on, B,"Veronica giggled, grabbing her blonde best friend's arm, dragging her through the thick crowd in the halls of Riverdale High. "You have to help me plan a welcome back party!"She said, continuing to drag the blonde behind her despite her efforts to break Veronica's almighty grip around her wrist.
"I don't do parties!"Betty Cooper has never been to a party in her entire life—she has been invited to nearly all parties her fellow schoolmates hosted, but she never attended any of them or even made an appearance. Her parents may be out of town much because of their business, but Betty felt bad everytime she even thought about going to a party. Her parents made it very clear to her not to attend such events, knowing that there was alcohol involved and the whole of Riverdale High's football team.
"You're better than tthis, than all of them, Elizabeth."She could still hear her mother's voice echoing in her eardrums as Veronica pulled her into her car, her heart racing with nervousness.
"Betty, you're seriously not thinking about mama and papa Cooper, aren't you?"She sighed, facing her best friend who sat on the passenger seat behind her, hands clasped together as she thought everything over in her head. "B, you're eighteen, you're basically allowed to do anything you wanted. You need to start living life a quarter mile at a time."She said.
"Besides, my brother's gonna be flying back home in a couple of hours from New York University. He's never met any of my friends, and I'd like him to meet you too."
Ah, yes. Veronica's infamous brother, Jughead Jones. Since their parents were divorced, her dad, FP Jones moved to Toledo, bringing Jughead with him, leaving Hermione all alone with their daughter. The two siblings were so young when they were separated from each other, Jughead never even got the chance to attend school in Riverdale Prep and Veronica never got to meet her father. Just as Jughead was starting college, Veronica started to reach out to him, and as much as he wanted to meet her, he couldn't find the time. For four years they've been talking to each other via Skype and Facetime.
"Also, Jughead's best friend is coming with him. I heard he's pretty hot."Veronica spoke with a giggle as she sped out of the school's parking lot, driving to the Pembrooke.
Betty's parents were out of town once again on a conference. Maybe one night out won't hurt...Betty knew that Veronica was right. She needed to start living her life like she should have been doing. What Alice Cooper doesn't know won't hurt her.
"Fine. I'm gonna help you, and I'm gonna be at the party."Betty replied with a bit of hesitation as she chewed the inside of her cheek, suddenly confused once the raven-haired girl starting to laugh out loud.
"That was never in question, B."She spoke once she has composed herslef, glancing at her best friend. "Of course you're attending this party."
❄️❄️❄️
It was six in the evening when Betty and Veronica finally finished setting up the Pembrooke for Jughead's welcome party. Veronica made sure to invite only her friends, the closest ones, not wanting Jughead to be overwhelmed by the amount of love he receives when he returns home. Besides Betty, she has invited Kevin, Cheryl, Josie, Reggie, Moose, Midge, and Chuck.
