|| THIRD PERSON ||

Betty, age 6
Jughead, age 7

Betty hated that she had to leave her house.

Her mom, Alice, and her dad, Hal, fought that night again, but this time she was pretty sure her mother's had enough. Betty was young, but she was a smart girl, and so she easily understood why she would be moving to another house with Polly and her mother. "Pack your clothes, Elizabeth."Alice told her daughter, waking her up late at night. Betty had gotten so used to her parents' yelling that she's taught herself a way to sleep through it. Betty could tell that her mother was starting to panic, seeing tears begin to form in the rim of her eyes. "Mommy's gonna go pack her clothes too, and when I'm done I'll come back to help you, okay? I'm sorry I had to wake you up at this time of the night."

Betty's a big girl, she can handle it. She nodded and rubbed her eyes, jumping out of her bed. She grabbed one of her pink princess backpacks from her closet and threw as much clothes as she could inside, packing squeezing in a few story books and her stuffed toy, Caramel the Cat.

"Betty! Polly! Go back to sleep! No one's leaving this house!"Her father yelled from downstairs, and Betty could hear his footsteps rushing up the stairs. Betty zipped her bag closed, her stuffed toy in hand as she ran to her mother, her sister Polly trailing close behind her.

"Mommy!"Ever since she was a baby, Betty had always been scared of her dad. She clung onto her mother, who was zipping up her duffel bag. "Come on, Betty, Polly, we're leaving."She said as gently as she could, but deep inside, Alice was panicking. She held her daughters' hands and exited the room, facing Hal Cooper.

"You're staying here, Alice. You don't have anywhere else to go to!"Hal stated, a smirk on his face as he crossed his arms over his chest. "I'm leaving, Hal, and I'm taking the girls with me! I have somewhere to go to!"She yelled at him, tightening her grip on her daughters.

"What the hell are you thinking? You've lost your mind!"Hal screamed, laughing at her mockingly. "They're my daughters too, Alice! My blood runs in their veins too!"

"Don't you dare think that my daughters will be living unded the same roof you are!"Alice cried out, stomping her foot on the ground. "They won't be staying here a minute longer! I won't let you taint them!"

"Taint them with what, Alice?"Hal asked, raising an eyebrow at her, stepping forward as Alice and the girls tooka step back. "Say it, Alice. I dare you. Taint them with what?"He asked one more time, his eyes kept on Alice as she shook her head, tears running down her eyes. Hal hurt her in so many ways, she couldn't even keep count. And she wouldn't dare think about all the things he's done to her, all his darkness that he's unleashed on her.

"I'll call the cops if you don't back off!"Alice yelled at him, standing her ground. Polly was already crying softly while Betty trembled in fear, too scared of what her father could do that she couldn't think about crying anymore. "I won't hesitate to get the police involved!"Alice threatened, and Hal laughed at her threat. "You won't do that, Alice. You're too weak!"

"I swear to God, Hal, I'll have you arrested if you don't let us go!"

It took a while, but Hal finally let them go, telling them that they better not come running back to him. "If I so much as see your face around here again, I'm going to get you arrested for taking my daughters away from me!"They didn't look back as they walked out of the house, loading their things in Alice's car.
