Part 2 of "The Cooper-Jones Pact"

|| THIRD PERSON ||
The next day, Betty Cooper waltzed into the Healthy Grounds Café at precisely one fifty-five in the afternoon, wearing a pale blue sundress and her iconic blonde ponytail. She hadn't forgotten about what he told her yesterday, in the booth they shared.
"I'll be here, then."
Yes, Jughead Jones hasn't left her mind ever since they parted ways when Betty decided she needed to go back to her classes. Him and his perfect, pearl white teeth and bouncy ink-black hair and dazzling smile that made her knees go weak—it's all engraved into her mind like she hadn't just met him twenty-four hours ago. She felt like she's accustomed to seeing that smile, like he's always been there in her life.
When Betty Cooper turned to walk to her usual booth, her heart skipped a beat when she noticed a familiar beanie-wearing boy sitting there, on the side he sat in when they first met. Jughead was waiting for someone, specifically a blonde-haired preppy journalist-wannabe who studies in NYU.
He had been waiting for her for over an hour, not wanting to be late since he was the one who called for this date. He didn't want to give her the impressing that he wasn't as interested as he appeared, which was the complete opposite of what he felt. When Jughead was studying in NYU, even back in highschool, everyone mocked him as a woman hater. Sure, he was fúcking hot and he had lots of pretty girls ready to kneel in front of him just to have a date with him, but he always turned them down.
And suddenly, Betty Cooper walks in—more like sits—and snatches his breath and steals his heart away. She made no effort to look good in front of him, made no move to show him that she had the hots for him, but she still got him. And now he's wrapped around her perfect little fingers and he wouldn't have it any other way.
And that is saying a lot, considering that he's only known her for a day.
"Mr. Jones,"Betty spoke, her tone playful as she walked towards him, his head darting to her direction and his eyes glued on her, sitting on the other side of the booth. He had a smile on his face, and so did she, both of their cheeks lightly dusted with pink. "What a wonderful surprise."She said. It was meant to be sarcastic—of course she knew he'd he there.
"I could say the same for you, Miss Cooper."Jughead replied, smiling amusedly at her. "I was starting to think you've bailed on me today."He admitted, placing his hands on top of the table, his fingers clasped together. Betty let out a light laugh—God, that laugh. It made Jughead weak.
"To be honest with you, I was really looking forward to this date."Betty said, biting her lip slightly as she looked up at him with hopeful eyes—hoping he'd say the same. Jughead's blush reddened, which Betty noticed and took as a sign that Jughead was definitely interested in her, and he really was. Jughead didn't let that many girls who wasn't his mother nor sister get close to him, not even his mother could get through the wall he's built around him. And that meant that Betty was special.
Betty was the exception.
Betty has spoken more to him than any other girl who he considered a stranger back in high school and college. Jughead would rather spend time with his best friends, or back at home jamming out with Archie or writing his novel—Jughead plays the drums and is quite an excellent drummer.
"Me too, so I was getting kind of sad that you weren't already here when I got here."Jughead replied, nodding slightly in agreement, trying his best to hide the blush that only reddened on his cheeks. Betty's eyebrows scrunched together, and looked at him quizzically. "How long have you been here?"She asked.
"An hour."He replied, and it was a lie. He's been there for three hours—he got so paranoid about being late on his first date with Betty, and he didn't have her number so he wasn't really sure how he'd contact her and know around what time she really goes to the café or if she'll have to cancel or delay or something. He just wanted to make sure that he would be there.
"Great, now I'm feeling really guilty."Betty giggled softly, shifting her position on her seat. "And to make it up to you, for waiting for so long, I'm buying you a milkshake."
"You don't have to—"
"But I want to."
"Fine, then I'll have a strawberry one."Jughead replied, finally giving into her. Maybe, therems just no winning an argument when you're with Betty Cooper. Jughead made a mental note not to cross Betty or even think about arguing with her or going against her. It's just not humanly possibly to win.
"Pops, I'll have a strawberry milkshake for the guy and a vanilla milkshake for me!"Betty called out, not caring about getting attention to herself because the café was literally deserted except for them and Pops, the owner of the café. Pops, who was sitting behind the counter, nodded, shooting her a smile. "Coming right up, Betty!"He said, disappearing into the kitchen.
"So, I just wanted to clarify things about our deal."Betty spoke, clasping her hands together, squeezing her thighs together.
God, why does he have to be so hot?
"The Cooper-Jones Pact, yeah."Jughead ellaborated, nodding his head. "If you're able to convince me to be your girlfriend—official girlfriend—before my birthday, we'll marry each other?"Betty asked, eyes sligtly wide, wanting to be sure that what she heard yesterday was really what he had said. Jughead nodded in response and smiled. "Exactly. Fun, right?"
"I think you should've thought about your pact more."Betty said, a small smirk on her lips, hidden behind a slight smile. I let out a chuckle and shrugged. "What could go wrong? That's a perfectly good deal."He said. All Betty could do was smirk, amused by his determination and positivity.
"Fine then. Good luck with that."Betty said, laughing softly as they were served their milkshakes. She sipped on hers as he sipped on his, both fo them savoring the sweetness of the milkshakes, and of the atmosphere that has settled around them.
"Just so you know,"Betty spoke once she has stopped sipping, keeping her eyes on the table. "My birthday is in two weeks."Jughead doesn't need two weeks or more to be able to persuade Betty to be his girlfriend—he doesn't need to move at all.
He already has, and along with that, he's already stolen her heart.

Might or might not do a part 3, but I'll mostly likely write one, I'm not sure when I'll write it, though. Anyways, here's the very long due and very much awaited part 2 of "The Cooper-Jones Pact". I know it's shorter than the other oneshots I write, but part 3 is most likely to be long.
