i'll "never" leave you again.

dear mom,

funny enough,

i ran to aaron's house again.

i was expecting to see his mom open up the door.

but, i saw aaron open up the door instead

with this surprised expression on his face.

mommy,

i won't lie and say that i didn't want to smack his face right when i saw him.

but, i really wasn't able to even if i had the chance.

because i ended up sniffling and apologizing for coming.

he told me how it was fine.

"where's your mom?" i asked him.

"oh, she's away on this business trip for a week." he explained.

"wait, are you all by yourself then?" i asked him a bit confused.

he chuckled and shook his head, telling me how his grandparents were in the other room asleep.

i wanted to ask him if i could stay with him for a few days.

but, i wasn't sure if he would be weirded out by my request.

he could see how i wanted to say something so he smiled and told me how he'd ask his grandparents if they'd be okay with me staying.

i was really surprised to hear him say that. how did he know what i was going to say?

he told me to wait on the couch in the meantime.

so, i sat on his couch and waited as he went into his mom's room.

i could hear him conversing with his grandparents.

he soon came outside of the room with a large smile.

"they said it would be fine for you to stay over for as long as you want!"

i smiled and before i knew it,

i was crying mommy.

i don't know why i started crying.

it was like i just realized how alone i was now.

daddy was gone.

mommy, you were away.

none of our relatives would take care of me.

i'm all alone now.

aaron was surprised and flustered when he saw me crying.

he came over to me and tightly wrapped his arms around me.

he told me how he was really sorry

for leaving me and making me have to deal with this all by myself.

he felt bad for doing that since daddy was gone.

i hugged him back and started sobbing in his chest.

then somehow, eventually,  i fell to sleep right in his arms.

the last thing i remember was one of his hand rubbing my back

and the other slowly patting my head while he soothed me.

saying how he wasn't going to leave me.

that he promised he'd never leave ever again.

love,

ann
