dear mom,
i'm now 11 mommy!
sorry for not writing to you the past year.
a lot has actually been happening since the last time i wrote to you!
aaron's mom returned back from her business trip
and when she heard about what happened to daddy,
she told me how she would be perfectly happy with coming over
on some days and taking care of me.
it made me really happy when she told me this.
yesterday, she actually came over to check up on me.
i let her in and she looked really shocked when she saw what our house looked like.
she saw all of the empty bottles lying around.
she saw some illegible writing on the walls.
she wanted to say something to me.
but, i didn't ever really see her mouth open up.
she just walked around silently and started picking up the trash lying around
and threw it into the trashcan.
she picked up the bottles and placed them inside a bin.
she looked at the wall and i could see her trying to read it
and i got a bit nervous.
but, instead, she smiled and told me how she'll bring some paint in
tomorrow and how she'll repaint the walls for me.
it's only been a couple of weeks since aaron's mom has been coming over.
but, so far our walls have been repainted,
all the trash is now gone,
the recycle is recycled,
and somehow the feeling of the house being a home has returned.
but, this isn't what i was wanting to write to you.
i wanted to tell you about how something really odd has been happening to me!
i feel a lot more angrier than usual!
plus, there's something that's running down my leg.
and there's something that is running down my leg.
there is blood running down my leg.
mommy,
am i dying?!
oh no, i haven't done anything that i wanted to!
i don't want to die!
wait a minute...
i remember something that they taught us in that class.
the phases that a girl goes through is bleeding,
which indicates that...
oh gross!
love,
ann
quickly written on toilet paper that hasn't stayed in it's original state after being scribbled on. ann then spends some time sobbing over the fact that she's no longer a little girl anymore. she hears the front door open and sees aaron's mom looking at her filled with concern.
"ann, oh my god, what's wrong honey?" aaron's mom asks her as she sits down in front of her.
"i have my period. what am i supposed to do?" ann cries out as she looks up at aaron's mom with a running nose and tears rolling down her cheek.
"oh honey, don't worry about this. this is a completely normal thing for a girl your age! here, how about we help you get out of that and clean you up." aaron's mom tells her, she takes ann's hand into hers and searches for some pads.
she gives ann a pad and ann looks at it all confused. "okay, so i'm going to teach you on how to position the pad. okay?" ann nods her head as she watches as aaron's mom places the pad down on a piece of paper.
"do you understand how to do it now?" she asks ann.
ann looks at the example and nods her head.
"okay, so go into the bathroom, and if you need help, remember the example i just showed you." she tells ann who nods her head again and goes into the bathroom with a new pair of underwear and a pad.
after, a few attempts, ann correctly places the pad down. she comes out with a huge smile feeling proud of herself.
"if this ever happens again, which it well, ann - honey, don't feel afraid to call me. i'll help you out any time, okay." she tells ann with a small smile who nods her head.
"thank you aaron's mom!" ann smiles.
