"Mrs. Elizalde." She looked at her with full politeness. She's talking to her like she's in business. She doesn't know any other way to talk to her or anybody else aside from her family. The lady looked up to her and smiled sweetly.
"Liza! Oh please, please, sit. Make yourself comfortable." She said sweetly. She smiled back. Her husband told her about the Elizalde wife; She's kind and very sweet. "Do you want some tea? Coffee?"
"I'm fine with water, thank you." Liza said while putting down her envelope. She's wearing a pencil skirt, white blouse and a blazer. Very business-like. She felt bad about that, it felt like she's selling her own. She carefully opened the envelope and pulled a piece of paper. "Shall we start?"
Carla smiled to her sweetly. "Please, don't talk to me like you're going to offer me a deal or something." She shivered. "It felt like I'm selling my own son."
That's exactly what Liza is feeling. "I'm sorry, I know no other way." She sighed. "Anyway," She started.
"Her name's Nikita --- Nikita Fajardo. She's our only daughter. She's the only girl descendant of the late John Fajardo. She's 21 years old and on her last year in college." She glanced at Carla and saw her smiled, she smiled as well and took a deep breathe.
"Please, Liza, introduce her the way you know her. It's gonna be fine." She said and smiled sweetly.
She put the piece of paper on the table. "You can call her Nikki. She's boyish, she likes to play video games --- what does she call that? Ah, dota. She also skates. She say bad words at times and even though she's the youngest, mas bossy pa siya sa mga kuya niya. Even on her twin brother, Nicholo." She smiled. "Her father calls her Princess because she is. Her friends once told me that she's.... Sabog and lutang." She laughed and Carla laughed with her as well. "She surprisingly eats a lot. But... She's very careful. She only had one boyfriend and it was 4 years ago. We..." She paused. "We used to be so close but then... A mother got to do what she got to do."
"You love her so much, don't you?" Carla asked.
"Of course, she's my only daughter. Like others call it, Unica Hija. And as much as I don't want her to be in this place, I can't stop it. Her father made a promise to her grandfather, and promises shouldn't be broken."
"I understand, Liza." She said reached for her hand. "Even though I'm not really blessed to have a daughter, I know that it's hard for you to give up your only daughter for an oath made by our husbands' fathers." Liza nodded in agreement. She grabbed the papers and scanned the pictures printed on them. "She doesn't look boyish to me. She's very pretty and feminine."
"Oh, believe me, looks could be very deceiving. She's too beautiful to be boyish but once you get to know her, you'll be surprised. She got lots under her sleeves."

[Nikita's point of view]
"Tara, dota tayo after class?" Sabi ko at nagpout pa. Tumawa naman si Alex.
"Hoy Nikki, tumigil ka nga." Napalingon ako sa nagsalita at sumimangot ako. "Ang BI mo ah, kababaeng tao."
"Hiya naman ako sayo, Clarise. Bait mo kasi masyado eh." Sabi ko at bumelat. "Di ka lang marunong magdota eh."
"First ka pa kaya ganyan!
