A N T H O N Y

Her words kept playing over and over again in my ears. She was right, our love for each other has consequences because I was reckless of people's feelings. They kept using her to hurt her and it was not her job dealing with my mistakes.

The red light felt like it took too long to turn green. I closed my eyes for a few seconds and when I opened them I saw the green turning red again. I muttered. I was thinking about what she told me. At that moment, I knew why she was hesitated to get closer to me, to get attached to me. It was like she knew that if she did she will get hurt but what about me? Was I getting hurt too because of things I did in the past. What if I wanted to start a new life? To start a new beginning? What if I met another girl and she got through all of this too? Does that mean that I will never be able to be happy with any girl because of what I've done when I was young and stupid?

But I didn't  want to start a life with any other girl. I didn't want any girl but her. Being with her made me feel alive, I've been wasting time for so long until I met her. She gave my life a meaning, she gave my time a weight. I want her back but she didn't want to do with me.

My phone rang for the thousands time since I hopped in the car. I left her house in the morning and have been driving around town since set of the sun. The darkness fell upon the streets. I took my phone out of my pocket and looked at the caller ID. It was Jace.

"I can't believe you picked up, man." He said. I was really not in the mood to talk right now.

"What do you want, Jace?" I asked him. Perhaps, I sounded very harsh but at least I was answering him.

"Damn, very rude." A female voice said next to him, causing me to roll my eyes. Of course! After all, it was Jace I was talking to. She, soon after, got hushed by Jace.

"We are having a party at Kade's and knowing that you won't remember on your own and won't come until we keep begging you to come, I decided to call."

"I don't feel like it, Jace." I groaned.

"Tony, you don't have a choice, everyone will be here. It's been so long since the last Kade's party." He said.

I stayed silent. I thought perhaps that was what I needed at the moment. After all, I left this whole life because I wanted to be someone that loves me and that I can open up to. I quickly took a turn to take the way to Kade's house.

Despite the music being very loud, my ears couldn't hear anything other than the gulps of the liquid in my cup. The more I drank, I lost consciousness of everything around me.

I looked around the house. How can everyone be happy and have company like that? As my eyes scanned the room, I saw her. I saw Rose. My heart dropped. She was right there, in front of me, talking to someone I didn't know and laughing with him, throwing her head back. I was facing her back but was sure it was her. I got up and quickly, tried to walk in one line, and approached her.

"Rose," I called as I walked towards her. When I was right behind her, I was scared to call, I was scared to face her so she would leave the party and leave me alone again. I softly turned her by her shoulder. "Baby," I raised my eyebrows when my eyes met other eyes than hers.

"Who are you?" The guy in front of her slapped my hand off the girl's shoulder.

I was disappointed when my eyes met hers. That wasn't Rose. I was so surprised from the way they look alike from the back. They have the same hair style and colour. I gulped and looked up at the guy.

I turned to leave but the guy stopped me. "I asked you a question." His voice was harsh and his eyes held so much anger in them.

"Babe, let him go. I don't know him." The girl said.
