When I woke, I was totally exhausted. Not only did it take hours before sleep finally took over – too scared that Sebastian would come bursting through my door –, I also had nightmares. About what could have happened if I hadn't shoved him away. I shivered and stepped out of bed. It was only 7am, but the thought that father would burst into my room to drag me out because of the stupid parade, made me cringe. So I showered quickly and put on a dressing robe, waiting for the maids. 8am sharp they walked in, and I groaned quietly. Why were they always so irritatingly submissive? They didn't say a thing while they brushed my hair, applied some make-up and helped me into some too expensive clothes. Though I had to admit they were stylish. The skirt didn't reach my knees – to my relief because it was a hot day – and was white with black dots. The shirt was simple black, but stylish and the sleeves reached till my elbows. Black heels and a silver bracelet with small diamonds completed the design. The maids curtsied and walked out. Signing, I grabbed my phone. Two messages, one from Nick and one from Emma, both telling me to have fun. Yeah right... A knock on the door made me look up. Elena? Are you ready to go? Lucas' voice came from the other side. "I am coming!" I placed my phone into a small black purse together with my sunglasses, lipstick and deodorant. Elena...... I chuckled, hearing the impatience in Lucas' voice. I opened the door just as he wanted to knock again, and his eyes widened when he saw me. I grinned at him. "What?" I asked. You just look... amazing. I giggled and hooked my arm with his, grinning. "Let's go my knight, we have to face our amazing commoners." He smiled and bowed to me, though I saw it was a teasing gesture, he thankfully played along. As you wish, your royal highness. We laughed the whole way to the foyer.

Father was waiting, not even blinking when Lucas and I walked – still laughing – into the foyer. Sebastian and Viktor stood next to him, but I didn't pay attention to either of them. Right on time Elena. My father muttered softly and I rolled my eyes. "Well, what is the whole plan?" I asked my father. We will drive in an open car through the streets of Vienna until we reach out destination. From there on we will walk through the rest of the city, the inhabitants made a whole route with sport, games, dance, music, whatever you can think of. I nodded slowly. Oh, another thing... you'll stay close to Sebastian the whole time. I narrowed my eyes a little. "Why would I? I have Lucas right?" My tone was cold, dangerous, not that my father cared. Because I said so. Sebastian just grinned, and I gave him a glare. Father continued, he didn't see the silent threat. It isn't unusual for royals to bring their fiancés to events like this. Let the press make the conclusions but be a little romantic about it. I rolled my eyes, but nodded invisibly. Father, seemingly satisfied, turned to the door. Let's go. The door opened and I followed my father and cousin towards the door, Sebastian and Lucas someone behind them. Viktor helped me into the car and closed the door behind me. I frowned, but my father saw it. You and I are the only ones in this car. Viktor may be the crown prince, but he is still my cousin. He will be in the next car with Sebastian. I nodded slowly, relieved for some reason. We drove in a long row: one black car with guards in front of us, we were the second one in an open limousine, the second open limousine with Viktor, some other relatives plus Sebastian after us, and after them two black cars with guards. "Do we need all that security?" I asked my father. After Eric's death I don't take the risk. And neither should you. He looked at me. just smile and wave Elena, and during the walk you can join sports, talk with the people. But stay between the security. I nodded. I softly heard music and cheering, but I didn't expect the people to stand at the gates, cheering for us. I just smiled and waved, just as my father wanted me to do. The people seemed pretty excited about all of this, and because of that my excitement grew a little as well. The drive didn't take long, and at our stop there were A LOT of people. Sadly this time Sebastian's hand waited for me to take it, so he could help me out of the car. After an invisible glare from my father I smiled at him and let him help me. He didn't let go of my hand, and I did no reason to shake him off but I squeezed hard on time. He didn't blink. We continued our way walking.
